Matt Martin available with Boulton signing

Garth Snow has said he's willing to trade some of the youth now for a top-four defenseman.

Martin is never in these discussions because of his unique ability to engage anyone on the ice at anytime. Well almost anyone (Carkner)...and now with Boulton, Snow would seemed to have positioned himself nicely concocting this new tough-guy formula in Long Island.

If Matt Martin wasn't available before, he IMO most certainly is now. Discuss.

Matt Martin is not for sale, Boulton won't dress up most nights, and Carkner is a dman who can fight. Martin is a lot more than a fighter, he is a hitter.

I do think if the Isles are in play for Rick Nash or Bobby Ryan, it is going to be guys like Bailey, Nino, Strome, De Haan, Mayfield, Donovan, coupled with Grabner.

I believe that the 3 guys that are off limits are Hamonic, JT, and Martin.

I think there is 0 chance we trade Matt Martin but then again this is Garth Snow.

I though this was a Newsday article, now I can breathe. If Matt Martin was moved I seriously would not follow the Isles.

Matt Martin is an everyday player. Eric Boulton is not.

I agree, give me a break Martin and Boulton don't fill the same role whatsoever. Martin's a useful player in a number of ways, Boulton's a mostly washed-up goon.
