I'm kind of glad that he signed for so much with another team, because I was pretty torn about if I wanted him back with the Flyers. If he had signed somewhere for $3m I'd be second guessing the Flyers' ability/choice not to resign him. Now there's no doubt.

I agree. I wanted him back, but at less than he was paid last year. Getting that much Dallas must be trying to ice the oldest team in the league.
hello butthurt pens fans.... oops its flyers fans talking about Jagr needing money... really?
i m pretty sure Dallas offered im 1st line and 1st pp unit time, something flyers didn't want to give him .. bt ye must be money
but im dissapointed, never liked dallas and i fancy flyers and especially Hartnell, stupid move:S
When Homer signed Jagr I had a total WTF moment. I was pretty shocked. My 8 year old son plays travel hockey and became a huge Jagr fan this year. He even wanted to change his number to #68 and does the Jagr salute as his goal celebration. He met Jags in Tampa and Jags took a few minutes to show his appreciation. Now that Jags Jags signed in Dallas my only thought is once again WTF!
Even though Jagr is gone his impact will still help this club in the future. Our young guys just coming into their own seen how a hall of fame player trained to be the best. They now know what it takes to be one of the better players of all time. They know it takes hard work.
Hey, no hard feelings from me at all. In fact, I was one of his biggest skeptics when we signed him. Boy did he prove me wrong. Best of luck to Jagr and the Stars and thanks Jags for the great season.

I'm surprised as anyone to see him sign with Stars, not because of the team, but the travel from Dallas.
It seems like most are disappointed that he disappeared in the second round, and even Jagr's agent can't understand why he continued training (as well as playing) through a serious injury. Maybe coming back to the NHL after 3 years, he wanted to try to prove too much too soon. However, he had some big moments during a season worth remembering, including the 2 breakaway goals in the game in which Pronger was injured... his 4 goals that helped the Flyers win 4/6 vs. Pens in regular season... and his 7 points in 6 games to help them win that entertaining series vs. Pens. Will be hard to forget that spin-o-rama game-winner in game 2 or the one-handed feed to Giroux while being held to extend a two-goal at the start of the third period of game 3.
Thanks for putting up with those of us who won't be haunting the Flyers' board next season and good luck to the Flyers. They have a great group of forwards and Giroux didn't need Jagr to make him a star, he was already becoming one. They need to do some fine-tuning, but as long as Holmgren is patient, I look forward to seeing them battle for the Cup in the near future.
I'm not too surprised by the money Jagr got. The going rate for 60 point wingers now is in the ball park of 4 million. While I wouldn't have wanted the Flyers to give him that much, it was a good move for Dallas.
Part of me is bummed he won't be back, I really enjoyed having him here.
I'm glad he's done. Our defense is mediocre and we need Suter in the worst possible way. Jagr's 3 mil going towards Suter helps.
The risk and possibility is extremely high that his production will fall off a cliff this yr. Great guy and all, good perfromance this yr, but the risk is too high.
I wouldnt even have wanted him back for 3 mil. I'd want that 3 mil applied towards Suter.

Suter is extremely unlikely with or without Jagr. Money was never the issue with out ability to sign Suter... not in the least.
i'm disappointed Jagr is not going to be around
the young talent has/and would have so much to gain from his presence
but at that cost................ no way
hope he does well in dallas
gonna miss you on the bench, but we really need to focus on the task at hand
The loss of Jagr is going to be profound. I don't think people realize just how big of an influence he was in the locker room. I think the Flyers would have liked to have him one more year to help get Voracek to the next level. Hopefully Voracek paid attention to how Jagr prepared and how Jagr was ready for a game. Jagr is really going to be missed around here.
