I am so sick of most of you bashing Mike Rupp. The guy would never tell you this nor did any of the Rangers media mention this but his knee never healed properly after the surgery. He was is in constant pain and needed a second operation which would have ended his season.. He didn't have it in order to keep playing.. The guy gave his all to not one leave the team and two to protect his teammates.. Rupp is a good friend to me and i am sick of the needless he sucks trade him talk.. The guy is a perfect 4th liner in todays NHL...

I agree with you 100%. It was pretty obvious that he was playing injured and in pain for the entire year.
I wanted Rupp as a FA and still think he's a useful player on the 4th line. He will stick up for his teammates and be a great locker room guy. Plus he has chipped in with goals here and there in his career.
So i'm on Rupps side. People just need to complain.
Or maybe it's because he was overpaid and, besides beating up Kopecky and scoring in the WC, did nothing all season.
I'm not saying anything about his intangibles. He's a great guy. Being a great guy, with 5 points in 80 games, doesn't justify 1.5 million dollars though. Especially when it seems like he lost some velocity on his enforcing fastball this season.
If he was injured, he should've just gotten the surgery instead of being at less than 100%.
Definitely thought he had to be banged up. For a guy that Torts was so high on bringing in I couldn't believe we were seeing him at close to 100%. As I've said before, I expect much more from him in 2012-2013.
i've been hoping that his knee bothered him cause he was such a better player before coming here. would be huge if he got healthy and got back to the guy he was in pittsburgh
i love mike rupp. consummate pro, great teammate, and although he was hurt he was effective at times.
however, this is a business, and theres a cap that we have to be below. is mike rupp needed at $1.5 million? well if we need to get under the cap i think he's one of the first sacrifices and i don't have a problem with that at all.
I have a ton of respect for Rupp. Good at what he does and I've defended him all year. Him playing hurt isn't surprising and shows what a warrior he is.
Completely agreed. I am not a goon guy, but Mike Rupp is exactly what you want out of a fourth liner (when healthy). Tough, forechecks hard and can fight - well - when required.

Dagoon, I can appreciate that you are irritated by some of the drivel spewed here. I hope Rupper feels better and comes back with a good season for us. That being said, I'm sure he does not take anything that is said on this board very seriously....

liked rupp....though a little less now that i know who he hangs out with...
honestly though, if his play was hampering him so much he would have probably helped us out more by not playing. he was borderline garbage for the entire year. maybe if he didnt play JAM gets a callup or something? could he be called up? cant remember the rules.
I rarely agree with the OP, but when I do I drink Dos Equis...but Rupp wasn't himself this season and his knee was def bothering him. Just like Pyatt I wanted Rupper on this team for the bottom six. When he's lifting the CUP with the NYR lots of people will proven wrong on his worth. Also the guy sees the game very well and if you noticed in 24/7 Torts trusts him and Cally for in-game feed back.
lots of people on these boards just like to give unnecessary hate and that's why alot of good posters left. This board is becoming S hitt y.

I agree.
Some fans just need a whipping boy. Rupp was this past year's.
follow the team man
JAM not a Ranger he is a whale and not under contract..
Newbury sucks
Zuc was injuried 98% of the season
Wellman maybe be not to the 4th line and no grit at all...
Come on bro you have all the answers but you got the wrong questions.
