Rumors flying that Suter is now a Wing. Will be announced tommorow. 90 mill over 13 years.
Appears Parise was trying to get him to join the Wild. I guess they talked tonight but Suter made the decision he felt best for.
Parise to Wild should be announced tommorow too.
Where did you get this information from? I saw this tweet posted on the main board:
Manics™ @ManicsFromGAF
Dammit. Hearing that Parise is set for Minny but the hang up is Suter wanting Detroit. They’re trying to be a package deal
^^ has 47 followers. I (on my personal twitter account) have 389 followers...if i started tweeting hockey predictions I'd look like a more credible source
In any event, the only thing i'd like to avoid is them both becoming Wings. Even if they both did......that team is still old and slow. I feel like, healthy, we could take them down.
Will people stop posting crap from some "hockey insider" or claiming a "source" when it's some loser in his parents basement who knows less about hockey then my little sister. Until I hear it from someone like Drager, McKenzie, LeBrun or people of that ilk or the teams themselves it just nonsense and should be avoided like the plague.

????
I think Drager sits in the basement and makes **** up....how he has a job on TSN and NHL Network is beyond me.
The guy never has inside info, just general **** that we already know...
You watch the table at the trade deadline or free agency shows, and Lebrun and Mac are always making the announcements and are always talking to people....you then look at Drager on the dude just stares at his phone, no freaken joke... I purposely watched him and he seriously never breaks any news...
IF their trying to be a package deal. Then Chicago would be the logical choice...no homer.
Young core players who have already won a cup. And will be here with them for years to come.
Bingo!
Toews, Kane, Sharp, Keith, Seabs,
Bolland even an older Hossa.
The wings are going backwards and are only getting older. They're good enough to have 100 point seasons, but they're 4 years removed from a cup and were only 2 with a much younger core.
Plus Lidstrom is gone whos suter gonna play with. A big part of his success was having a great partner. In Chicago he would have Keith, Seabs, and a emerging nick leddy.
Besides Suters team this year manhandled the wings, why would he want to committ the next 10+ years of his career with them.
Parise would be wasting his time in Minnesota, playing 3rd bannana in Pittsburgh.
If they're smart theyll team up like Lebron and Bosh and go to a young team that's won it before.

Kane with the Olympic USA connection, leddy with the Minnesota connection and toews being a great captain and overall player could help turn the tide in our favour for parise.
Suter would be staying close to home and following in his uncles footsteps. He could even keep his number which of course was the same one as uncle Gary's.

I guess you don't believe the reports of Suter to Minnesota?
You know lots of people want to be the one that breaks this. Could be someone taking a shot in the dark. They know that if anyone is looking for hockey news, they're the only one posting stuff this late. Could be a shot in the dark.
Here's why I think it's untrue: Suter decision made, however, Parise still thinking? I highly doubt Suter goes to Minnesota without the guarantee of Parise there.

He is a credible source, I don't care if he breaks news or not if I hear it from him I now it most likely true.
But people are constantly quoting, @joeblow or heard from some yahoo who works concessions at the area as a credible source.
If the Hawks land both, everyone here owes Bowman a huge apology.
That said, I'm expecting neither.
why?
Bowman was reported in after Brodeur, Suter, Parise & Luongo.
He wants to improve our team, it's not always his fault that the players won't come here or some GMs don't want to see their player in the same conference

Since when is trying good enough? You either find a way to get the job done or you're out. Another 1st round exit without improving our glaring holes yet again and he will be on the proverbial hot seat, if he isn't already.
Not expecting a decision today, so tomorrow at the earliest.
And at this point, I'm thinking that their current teams aren't in contention any more, and I don't think that they're seriously considering the Wild either. I think both players have it narrowed down to two choices:
Parise - Chicago or Pittsburgh
Suter - Chicago or Detroit
And, to be honest, I think that Chicago's both of their second choices, so we're about to get neither.

To me, if they both had Chicago on the radar at this juncture...I'd think we'd stand a good chance of getting them both. The question is, who on earth are we going to clean out to make it happen? If we added those two without having to move any other major pieces....Jesus....It's be like Christmas around here for like...7 years.
