It might sit with me better in my conscience that he went there to play for a winner, and to play with Crosby, and Malkin. Other than that I know many of you disagree, and would be happy if he didn't stay in the division, but that's just my take.

Prediction on how many Wild fans will be over when he signs? They were crawling all over the place before free agency began!
Although basic addition and subtraction dictate otherwise I hope that freaking contract is for $120m, with $12m in each of the first five years and he wants out of the woods after two loser seasons. Hah!

Guess I am a little vindictive.

How many?

NONE. Because Ron, Cowbell, Classic, Dave, and the others will be on the job taking out the Trash.

That said, however, if it's true that it's down to just the Wild and Us, if he chooses the Wild then what does that say about the Devils? Beaten out by a Loser Franchise with a Loser Owner and a Loser Coach coaching for a Loser team.
It says he chooses money over winning

Doesn't sound too good right now.. ugh

Never thought Zach was the type to do something like this but can't really blame him. Just hope he makes the right call and signs back here with us.

and well.. if he wants to bring Suter along that's not really a problem either!

If Parise goes to the Wild. So be it. Especially at the stupid money being thrown around. Neither he or Suter are even close to worth what they'll be making and the incredible long-term commitment on both. And the Wild will eventually have significant cap and financial issues themselves down the road, especially if the Wild do not win consistently and some of their prospects actually do prove themselves. I also recall reading somewhere where the Wild don't turn that much of a profit despite being the "Hockey State" of the U.S and actually had a year recently where they lost money.

As for Parise leaving the Devils. Whatever. This team will endure and it will find another captain easily. We may very well have our future captain in Kovy or possibly even longer term in Henrique.

However, in terms of next season, Lou will absolutely have to go out and make a trade and possibly sign another FA as well. If he goes the status quo route, this team will have some real issues in terms of it's line depth and I do fear, will find it very difficult to make the playoffs. And I will state again that bringing back Sykora would be terrible. Last thing I want to see next year is the AARP All-Stars.

Let's start a little pool with the winner getting a shiny new NJ devils jersey (his choice of player) to replace ZP9.

Closest without going over on contract amount and length.

$96m over 12 years.

Me too. He was just blowing smoke up our a**es saying money only played a small part. Go ahead Zach, play for that loser team and have fun eating dinner with your dad every night and never winning anything.

Down Goes Avery @DownGoesAvery

#MinnesotaWildFacts Steven Stamkos scored 60 goals last season, so his 2011-12 season alone would rank 8th all-time in Wild history

So what's the guesses on contract numbers for Parise and Suter in Minny?

I'll say Zach 12-115, Suter 13-100

That's about 9.5 and 7.5 aav, putting them either right at or slightly over the cap.

I would too, but you know it's gonna be BS. ''This team has a great chance at winning I would say we got two great goaltenders, lot of great forwards Setoguchi, Heatley, Koivy, blah blah blah blah'' You know that's what it's gonna sound like.

I'm just as puzzled, and I really wanna hold off before a decision is made, and confirmed to blow my lid, but **** it it's not holding anyone else back.

If he does indeed sign with the team Suter does(Especially if it's Minnesota, and not a good team like Detroit) Then whoever wrote the article a month ago before the Finals ended about Parise being a package deal with Suter, and how they were conspiring to play for the same team next year like Lebron, and whoever his buddy is in the NBA is then they just might have been right. It may not have even been BS at all.

Similarities are striking, although I don't see the Wild winning any Cups any time in the next few years.

Either way if he does leave, it's a simple F-U to Parise and wipe him from my memory. Real captains don't pull nonsense like this. He's got some JP DNA in him, that's for sure.
