It's the NHL. Teams go from non contender to cup to contender in a heart beat! The Wild just took a huge leap!

Parise is $98 million over 13 years. $7.538 cap hit. Yikes.

I'm happy for the Wild fans though, they are a huge hockey city. Too bad the Kings are still better.

Josh Rimer ‏@JoshRimerHockey Don't be surprised if the Detroit Red Wings now make a pitch for Rick Nash with all the money they have!!

Yup.

I don't even know if that team makes the playoffs.

Well, at least Detroit didn't get him.

All about the money...as I predicted, but I got the team wrong.

I like it a lot; Minnesota improves, sure, but Nashville loses a good player, Vancouver now has a rougher go in the NW, and Detroit doesn't have replacement for Lidstrom OR Stuart.

Yeah, I don't think that's what he meant. Or maybe he did, and he is just plain stupid.

Great obviously for Minnesota. I guess "wants to be closer to home" trumped "wants to win".

I think he will come to regret this decision, much as Nash has...I wouldn't be surprised to see him demand a trade in a few years, when they suck season after season.

Two $100 million deals? YIKES!

Only team that should be doing that is Pittsburgh Penguins (ie: Crosby & Malkin)

I'm expecting an imminent announcement from the Dallas Stars on signing J.P. Parise and Gary Suter.

It's hilarious because they did the EXACT same thing to Atlanta fans, and trolled everybody, and now that it has happened to them it has come full circle and they feel insulted.

Gordie Howe can still lace them up, even at 84.

I think Detroit goes crazy to try to trade for Weber. Nashville has to deal him, and Detroit needs him desperately now.
