And then there was Gustavson- wow. And unless Howson throws the vault at him why would he sign here?
Bob/Mason
Nathan Mackinnon
all's well that ends well
Yeah, it's not looking like a good day, especially when Howson already said he's only looking at 3rd liners, no better way to fix the worst team in the league than to stand pat with the same roster.

...or throwing money at new players who aren't any better

Not really, if you can trade Nash for some nice prospects from NYR or Philly and then sign someone like Kostitsyn to replace some of his offense, we're a better team than we were yesterday.
Jordan Staal signs for 10 years and $60 million. Nash would look really good as a Hurricane.
Give us Ryan Murphy and Jeff Skinner plus a 1st and Howson can call it a day.
PS - How many times would Rimer confuse Ryan Murphy and Ryan Murray?

Good to see a team that's been struggling for the last 5 years get some big time free agents, gives hope to the CBJ if they ever try to sign a big time FA.
Must be their love of the north. Parise home and Suter has farm in Wisconsin. Glad they didn't go to Pitt or some other team that would have been a powerhouse with them plus existing stars.
Wild is a better team now for sure, that's obvious. However, I'm not sure this instantly makes them a Cup contender. They still have some other issues to address. Good for them and their fans. A good day to be a Wild fan.
As someone else pointed out in the other thread, I'm not sure this is going to create a frenzy to get Nash. Certainly not in the East, at least to the point of desperation. In the West, the elite teams probably feel this makes the Wild relevant, but probably not scared of them.
