Yes but Lecav said he would never play here and that long term deal in Tampa kind of proved that he had no interest in playing here

Recent history shows there are very few good local players that would sign here while in their prime. The almost retiring/washed up players love to come back though.

Wow, congrats to the Wild GM! Parise, Suter, added to Koivu, Heatley, Backstrom and top prospects Granlund, Coyle, Brodin and Dumba... They're suddenly a hell of a team.

Briere and Lecavalier will be begging to play for us in 5 years saying that they've always wanted to play here.

I'm a big Suter fan, I always thought he was a better dman than Shea Weber...

But Parise? I don't know...very good player, but I think committing 13 yrs on two seperate players is extremely risky.

Less so with Suter, but moreso with Parise...

Everyone else re-sign and opt out of becoming UFAs with no interest of coming to the Habs.

Brière- Was Good player (Huge offer, phone call from Béliveau = Fail)
Lecavalier- Was Good player, could have waited to become a UFA, knew Montreal would sign him. (Fail)

Darche - Wants to play in Montreal for ever.
All bad Quebec player that can't get a contract anywhere else - Want to play in Montreal.

Or use us for running up big contracts offers from other teams, then join the management team in a fluff position like that hack Martin Lapointe

Yes like all the other stars that want to play for the Habs at age 38

Hopefully we learned and don't actually sign them

I kind of like that... Minny are a long way before becoming contenders and I was afraid these guys would go to Pittsburg or Detroit...

Now, I'm afraid of Nash and Ryan... I guess Shero hasn't stopped shopping.

BTW : Very few players are willing to say no to a long term contract with huge numbers just to become UFAs... why has Crosby not waited for free agency ? He hates Mtl, that's why !

Just brutal

He turns 28 later this month, deal brings him to 41 years old with a cap hit of 7.538 per year. Just awful if you ask me. Can't wait to see what Suter got

I wonder if the league will review these deals. Probably not. The good news they are in the west.

The Wilds just got better. No doubt there! But too bad that they decided to go to Minnesota. They still won't win a SC any time soon.

Seriously, what a bad decision for Parise and Sutter..

It's just crazy, Bergevin told it... big numbers, very long term... glad we stay away from it.
