His family and himself have been staying in Tampa for almost 15years now, when he walks around town he can keep a low-profile same for his children at school.

Probably a part of him would of wanted to come to MTL but only if he thought he really had a chance to win the cup.

Can't really blame for not wanting to trade his picture perfect life in Florida for a mediatic hell-hole in MTL.

Every time these deals happen we hear the same thing - this team will be hamstrung by these deals long term, but it NEVER happens.

Teams that have winning as their #1 priority always find a way around this.

Watch NJ get Semin.

Semin and Kovalchuk shooting for the same team.

Agreed that it will not handcuff the Wild...I just think it's a terribly long committment to make to TWO players on the same day.

He had been rumoured here from like 2003-2009 and only got to Tampa in 1998 right, but I can see what youre saying. I enjoy living in a warm climate too but like I said I'll never understand why a Montreal boy wouldnt want to be the face of the Habs.

If Weber is really available now, I would pay a very nice price for him.

There will be a lot of Gomez-like scenarios in 5 years. Book it.

Nice for Minnesota. They're finally a solid club now--good all-around depth. I like their blueline. The one real weakness I see is 2nd line C.

Anyway, I was hoping a bit that these two would land in Pittsburgh, but this should be interesting in the NW. Vancouver, Minnesota, Colorado and Edmonton are all very good or will be very good in the near future. Calgary, on the other hand . . .

I was hoping the opposite, that NSH had a sense of humour and re-signed Kostitsyn, and we sent them Yanick Weber.

Kostitsyn to Kostitsyn to Weber to Weber, scores!

With Minny now close to the cap, lets try to get Clutterbuck....for both the 'stach and the name.

These long term contracts have to stop. Seriously it's getting out of hand. Should be 7-8 years max, IMO.

But congrats to Minnesota. They have made their team significantly better. Their fans should be ecstatic today. 6-7 years or so down the line? We'll see.

Besides that, as I expect Elias to retire a Devil, their core is aging especially without a prime Parise.

Yes the future of the division looks nice other than the Flames I'm sorry to say to their fans. The Canucks are good now and have enough prospect depth to stay competitive. The Wild added two big pieces plus have a top notch prospect pool. The Avs and especially Oilers are rife with young talent so it promises to be good. Bout time too since the NW has sucked for a few years and been a cakewalk for the Canucks.

Never mind scoring goals... Bell Centre, let me present your Montreal Canadiens, grinding teams to 1-1 draws since 2012!

They play in a full house and they can now raise ticket prices because of the newly aquiried local talent.

PPG player ? He's been a PPG player in two seasons out of 7.
