This was a great Offseason for a Caps/Wild fan...

So if Semin goes to desperate Pittsburgh in an OVERPAY is that a good or bad thing?

Haven't decided.

They lose Staal and add Semin? That is AWFUL.

Lamoriello said he reached out to Ryan Suter camp as well but said Suter didn't have interest in going East

Sure it could. Major injuries, without a doubt, have an impact on a team's success.

I don't see your point.

Given the same money, what incentive does Malkin have to end his career there when he could play with another Russian star somewhere else? How are they so sure he'll sign just b/c of Sid?

Parise and Suter to Wild: glorious, glorious, glorious

Just brilliant, the Minnesota Wild a LONG suffering team in the NHL who badly needed a boost gets 2 of the most sought after FA so i'm pretty sure i along with others are happy for them.

What's even better? They're in the west so it does nothing to harm our chances of progressing in the east but the best thing of all the Pens didn't get them

Without sounding like a troll i think i can sum up what every caps fan and fans from all other teams across the league are thinking 'SUCK ON THAT YOU COCKY PENS'.

It would come back to bite us in the bollocks.

Which is why it is imperative for George to ink up semin NOW, or at least drive the price up so that the Pens can't land 'em.

I rate Semin as a far better sniper than Parise, and with Crosby or Malkin he'd light us the F up.

I promise you now that Semin won't go to the Pens, he hates them and grew up in the era of that sick rivalry between ourselves and them.

How do you know that he wouldn't just love to spite Teddy Boy and Georgie Pordgy? I mean, we basically threw him under the bus this year.

Listen boys, if Semin goes to the Pens to take his revenge with Malkin, we are going to be ****ING lit up in the playoffs one year.

Hardly throwing him under the bus, as a professional HE should be the very first to admit that he stunk it up this season and he can redeem himself by signing a contract that is worth his value to make up for it.

Malkin has stated on multiple occasions that he loves the Pens organization and hopes they resign him.

You may be right if their friendship is still strong.

However, we might as well resign him. There is no other FA that will help much. We are not getting Ryan or Nash since Georgie boy won't give up MoJo. This lineup is 7 seed material and not cup ready.

I wonder why. I think we could convince him that playing with Ovie in a city like DC would be far more interesting.

This. In my opinion the most likely destinations for Semin are Detroit and NJ.

I guess Semin will like the 'troit. He is from Sibeira after all. I dont really see the difference, besides the fact that one has a french name and the other is russian.

There's nothing CHEERI-O about losing a sniper like Semin.

Oh, and neither is replacing him with ****ing Joey Crab.

The Carle thing was more about what I'm reading about Carle.

Everyone is hating on him.

For 6.7 million, you're welcome to throw me under the bus at anytime.

Let's be real, the Capitals fans and organization have shown this guy nothing but patience and support since he's arrived in the NHL. Any negativism that he's perceived he's received from the organization or its fans, his play and behavior is the source of such responses. That same play and behavior will be much less tolerated in most other NHL markets by the fans and media for those teams. Can someone please translate the grass is not always greener in Russian.

Interesting and important point. It was important to Parise that he and Suter were compensated equally.
Parise didn't want to be teased by Suter that he made more.

Semin will come to his senses and see this is the best place for him, then he will thrive with a distributor as his center and hopefully get his act together.
