500k over the course of 13 years too.

Or 39k per year. Lol

Sounds like we should hire hit men to take out parents.

Secondly, both teams play in municipalities and states which also tax, further complicating things. He'd clearly make more money, all other things being equal, in TN. But the spread he received from Minnesota is probably more than enough to cover any additional income taxes owed.

As for him choosing Minnesota, in general, I go out of my way to avoid places like Minnesota for anything more than a brief stay during warmer months. It always interesting when I read about people who willingly choose to live there.

Oh I know it is not that simple. I kept it simple to avoid dragging out my public finance book. Is t there a cap on state tax deductions as well?

Btw I'm not claiming to be a tax expert or anything like that.

I'm not aware of a cap, but I don't even do my own taxes, so I'm no expert either.

So, there I was hiking Watkins Glen State Park listening to TSN and I hear the news. Looking down the 500 ft drops I sigh. I could almost hear Adz, Patty, and Viqsi treating to kick my ass if I didn't change my thought process. Here's what I expect;

1) offer Weber a max life deal

If Weber says yes a trade for Ryan or Nash.

If no, trade Weber to Philly for the Schenns and a forward and them trade for JBo

I read that. My wife's from Pittsburgh. I have family in Canada. Regardless, there's a hefty premium I'd need to live in either location (there's almost no premium that would move me to Canada). Not saying he made a bad decision, just that I am always interested when I see such stark contrasts to how I view and live within the world.

Hey, just came over to your boards to say I feel terrible about what happened with the whole Suter thing. I've definitely lost a lot of respect for Suter for the whole way he handled this situation by not telling Poile is true intentions. But on the bright side you have 3 very good D prospects in Blum,Ellis and Josi! Best of luck with Weber and next season!

Not trying to belittle the situation, but I cannot wait to see what awesome chant you fans will have for Suter's return. If any place can create something crueler than the boo-birds, it's Nashville.

I hate having to ditch my signature that Nemesis helped create for me but... alas....

And yeah, I imagine he'll get quite a welcoming back chant...

Even with Suter, Minny's defense looks awful. Almost as bad as EDM's.

I think that's why I'm not too mad. I been through this before with Heatley wanting out, Hossa wanting out, trading Kovalchuk for Bergfors and Cormier, etc. Not gonna blame Ryan for taking 98 mil and getting to play in his hometown with Parise, though I'm a bit sore he dragged it out to this point.

The stuff about throwing beer at Suter is way out of sorts. It's not gonna be the first or the last time this team gets ****ed.

This is when the team nuts up, does what it has to do and comes out stronger and a better team from it. It may not be this season but if Poile does something right, we'll look back at this and actually be sort of thankful.

Right now we need to find a guy to fill the slot and re-sign Weber.
