Paul Martin + for Colin Wilson?

Firstly, my sympathy goes out to you Preds' fans. You deserved Suter to stay, and as a Pens fan, I am equally disappointed we got neither of the big fish while missing out on other Plan B's who signed.

Moving on, apparently Nashville was rumored to be interested in Paul Martin. I can't figure out why Wilson has fallen out of favour, but what would you guys think of a deal of Martin + for Wilson?

Would only really want to deal Wilson as part of a package for a top 6 forward like Bobby Ryan...

Malkin or bust.

J/K. No interest in Martin, certainly not for Wilson.

WHy would this be a bad deal for the Preds?? Name one successful forward the Preds have developed. Now before you say it think long and hard.. If you say Legwand we may have to send the people with the white coats after you. Horni well he was on 4th line and limited third line when he scored 17 goals a few years ago without that he would have been lost like Peverly or Upshall.Wilson would be much better off with another team. He has stayed in the doghouse here.

Erat. Hartnell.

And Wilson is developing fine, as will Smith.

oh, and Upshall wasn't "lost", he was part of a trade - some guy named Forsberg, maybe?

Martin for a third is a high as I'll go. Wilson won't be involved.

Erat is a decent 20 goal scorer And recall the Hartnell history as a RFA he signed a one year contract then ran as fast as he could to a big payday. Do any of that sound familiar oh yeah yeah Suter just did it too and Weber is round the corner. There is not a point a game player on the team. Come to think of it theres not one in the system. I am sick of people defending mediocre players. In a few weeks there will be one star player on the team. Rinne and he sure as hell can't do it all.

so it's crazy to say Legwand is successful... but Wilson, Upshall and Peverley are three that you mention, who have never matched Legwand's best production, and all come up short in the two-way game.

Why do you still root for this team? I thought you gave up on them when Vokoun was traded?

Paul Martin isn't gonna cut it for Wilson. I don't think he's a good replacement anyways.

I'd take Rick Martin if I could turn the clock back 40 years!

Because Paul Martin is a slightly above average defenseman with a bloated contract and a NMC.

Whether or not you think Wilson has a bright future, you have to get more than Paul Martin for him.

Erat, Legwand, Hartnell, Radulov, Hornqvist (he scored 30 once, btw). What? You said successful, and you said developed. You didn't say "elite" or "kept".

A third is generous considering that albatross of a contract.
