I watched the entire CBC version last night and I must say it was head and shoulders above the NBC version. As a matter of fact, comparing it to the NBC telecast would be insulting to the CBC telecast. Jim Hughson, who I criticized during the Vancouver series, did a terrific job during the entire telecast, and his summary of L.A. Kings history right before he went silent at the 2:00 minute mark was masterful and well-researched...got to give him props. If you haven't seen it, go to the 2:04:30 mark of the video below...quite moving. Then going silent for the last two minutes is a stroke of genius. Guy knows drama.

Thank you haven't seen this version and I was pleasantly surprised by it.

I lost count...but highlights certainly more than a hundred times... but still I just can't get used to it. We won the friggin thing ..how unreal is that.

When I started to watch entire games some years back Kings were awful and you would just be happy they made the play-offs. But after they sniffed their first PO's you could feel something was changing and the direction and the talk was suddenly more serious. I knew this years team was good enough but still and 16-4 ..are you kidding? Did I believe they would win the cup after they made the Play-offs? ...no freaking way.

But I LOVE IT

Speaking of FSW ... didn't they say they were going to do a YEAR END REVIEW KINGS LIVE Show ? has anyone heard more about it ?, did I miss it ?, is it still to be aired ? anyone heard about it at all or did I dream that ? I hope you didn't mean THAT was on last nite Sydor25 ? if so FSW did a horrible job letting us know it was coming!

Edit: Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr I guess it was ... just looked up FSW's site on the web, and found a replay of it TONIGHT at 10:30 pm in the LA area TV's at least.

My Stanley Cup replica came in the mail a few days ago. I'm so tempted to put on my black jersey (which also has the finals patch on it), turn on the ending of game 6 to the part where they play "We are the Champions" and dance around with the cup above my head.

Is that wrong?

Yep, it was weird watching it...they basically had to fly through the reg season part of it because there was so much PO stuff to discuss......unlike so many Kings season review shows of the past.

He did a great job with the, "The Kings faced adversity, stared it down. All that's left is the countdown...to the Cup." line.

Yes and no

Yes in these ways:
-it is a seperate pre-produced recording.
-it is not the same show they did right after the cup was hoisted
-Bailey still doesn't have a jetpack

No in these ways:
- Patrick O'Neal doesn't get abducted by aliens.
-Jim doesn't cry in the year is review
- I still haven't won the lottery

I agree...sent shivers down my spine the first time I heard it.

Don't know when he decided to 180 the Kings...he was so pro-Vancouver I got disgusted...but was very presently surprised at this telecast, and that final send-off...good work Jim!

Jim is fine on non-Canuck broadcasts. I listen to him call CBC games often. A-OK when the Canucks aren't involved.

I think I'm going 8 times myself. Every time the 5 min pp comes on, I'm all smiles.

This is by far the best version to watch. It gets replayed on the NHL Network at least once a week. I believe another replay is scheduled for 6/29 @ 10 am.

Just watched the game in its entirety for like the 3rd time, mind you I have watched parts numerous times. But I balled my eyes out for the last 5 minutes just like that night.

Mis-spelling award of the day!

Watched game 6 again today in the garage while washing the car. Neighbors come by and say stuff like, "what, AGAIN?". To which I reply "I've got a strong feeling they're gonna win this one".

Tuned in to NHL Network to see their take on the FA signings, and guess what is on?

Game 6 again. If you want to see yet another repeat of the title game, its on now.

If you're able to keep count, probably means you haven't watched it enough.

Right. I lost track. Probably at 18 or so by now.

It's great..whenever there's nothing on TV (often over the summer), I just pick one of the 16 wins to watch again

I watched the full game six again yesterday and my wife could not understand why tears were running down my face with one minute to go.
