I find Emelin pretty intimidating. He hits as hard as anybody in the NHL.
From what they've done and what MB has said I expect 1 to 2 of Leblanc/Gallagher/Palushaj and Galchenyuk to be in the top nine next year. Most likely being Leblanc as Eller's 3rd line RW.
Whether Boullion slots in as Kaberle's 3rd pairing partner or as pressbox depth is a pretty interesting question.
I see a lot of Gallagher on the left side on your line-ups, but he is actually a RW.
With Cole-Gionta-Armstrong and White as RW'ers, I can't see Gallagher cracking the line-up this year. He will probably have a better shot next year after a year in the AHL and with Armstrong's contract expiring. Same thing goes with Leblanc.
Overall I don't see this team as a playoff team, we need a guy to play alongside Plekanec and Gionta on the left side to slide Bourque on the third. I would try hard to sign Shane Doan if I was MB, I don't care what happened in the past, he's a guy who could have the same impact on the team as Erik Cole had last year.
I still don't know if I like Kabouillon, or if I'll go with Bouberle.
LOL, Bouberle hands down. But when it comes to positioning, I prefer Kaberle on the left side. He struggled on his good side last year so I can't imagine how bad he would be, on his bad side.

I'd switch patch and Bourque, but that's pretty much dead on.
Bourque is sent down until it is seen if Galchenyuk should stay. Bourque is the least likely to get plucked off of re-entry waivers & if he is, sobeit, it becomes a $3.3 mill opening on the cap if needed later.
Plus, DD would play the PP with Max Pac & the kid, while Eller would play even strength for work along the boards & he would get PK time that the other three wouldn't.
Even strength, DD maybe able to boost Prust's & Colby's goal scoring a bit, while they open up some ice for him.
Gomez being a puckhog & his famous making a dash only to swing wide of the net could work playing with two guys who are looking to crash the net, this could be a solid bottom three

That's the sort of 'intimidation' and physical presence that makes more of a difference--not the after-the-whistle scrums. Players will be less inclined to be overly creative around the blueline or just inside the blueline for fear of taking their eyes off of an incoming open-ice hit.

Cubes biggest problem is handling the big opposing forwards down low in front of the net. Frankie is as tough as nails, but when someone 6'3, 225 is leaning on him has problems controlling their sticks.
Kind of the spectrum opposite of Gill, he could handle guys down low, but his mobility hindered him from trying to challenge players away from the net, they would breezeby(pardon the punt) by him.
I have a question that I've been asking myself, and after looking at Capgeek, you would have to think that something will have to give on the Habs roster in terms of a trade, or something of that sort.
Right now we have 22 signed players, counting Leblanc and Blunden. We take out those two as they most probably will be in Hamilton, but you add Diaz, Eller, and Subban, and we are at 23 roster spots. 8 dmen, 13 forwards, and 2 goalies. I can't imagine the Habs running with 3 extra roster players the entire year, and I do understand that injuries happen, but where are we going to put any players that come in through free agency?
I do understand that there is Gomez that will most likely start the year elsewhere, but there doesn't appear to be much room for extra players on this roster. Am I wrong, or is it more probable that we will run with this roster and let the rookies or younger players fill the holes (if there are any)?

Well, I do think that Desharnais is the right center for him. If there's a center that can bounce pucks off Bjork and into the net, it's DD. It's also to try to give Bourque weaker opposition, playing on Plek's wing against top opposition will ruin him even more.

All fair points. Does he replace Cole or Pacioretty? Pacio would be nice with Plekanec but at the same time his chemistry with Desharnais is something to behold. This looks kind of right however :
Pacioretty-Plekanec-Gionta (I think all three should have good chemistry together. Gio has played well with Pleky and with Pacio at times so its a good guess)
Bourque-Desharnais-Cole (shouldn't be as awesome as with Pacio but anything to get Bourque out of his slump...)
On the Powerplay the Pacio-Desharnais-Cole trio should be back together.
