Haha Bruno but if Ricky can skate they'll take him too.
so glad they didn't get Suter. the last thing i want is for that team to shore up the defense in front of that boob in net. going to love watching them lose in the seasons ahead. Once Giroux goes down, their whole offense is in shambles. With Jagr leaving and a normal season from Hartnell they're nothing but paper tigers.
Chris Butler @Ranger_Danger2
Sounds like #Rangers signed rookie camp standout Kyle Jean. Big power forward who shelved McIlrath & scored 3 goals. Nice addition. #NYR
Ball now in CBJ court. Det,Pitt,NYR,Phil,SJ all on the list with Carolina possible. Has to be a "homerun" in that group.
This whole thing is bs. I heard over the weeks that philly was not on the list. Now they are? Or is it that idiot reporter out of columbus just spewing bs? (that dreger just forwarded)

Philly has always been on the list, they stopped pursuing a trade right around the 1st though.
Also Portzline himself said Carolina wasn't on the list at all.
this crap with Nash is out of hand now. you have to think that with Parise and Suter out of the way we can see some moves via trade.
it's been months now CBJ has to know exactly what to expect in return by this point. Either make a friggin decision or keep the guy on your team! No team is going to overpay you for this guy.
What is it going to take for this guy to realize it's time to make a decision?

Why does he need to make a decision? His team is crap and Nash is signed for 6 more years. If he thinks he can get a better deal next month or next year than so be it.
That's 8 top-6 caliber forwards. That SHOULD be enough. There were a number of reasons we couldn't win this year.
Gaborik's injury
Hagelins inexperience
Stepan's disappearance.
Callahan's hand (he'll never admit it, but he scored 6 goals in the playoffs, none of them with an actual shot. Put it together)
Dubinsky's bad year.
on the other hand..
Richards had a decent playoffs.
Anisimov did fairly well
Callahan managed to make some noise.
Kreider managed 7 points in his first 18 games as a professional.
To be honest, does anyone here think that those 8 guys , when firing on all cylinders, can't carry us all the way on the front end?
I say stand pat, get the kids more experience, get them ready. We don't need better players, we just need our players to play the way we know they're capable of.

This is why the Nash camp needs to step in and say they are tired of waiting.

Well certainly they can say that. But at the end of the day that just makes him look like more of a jackass in the eyes of Columbus fans, since it will further reduce his value. And really, what else can he do? Certainly he could choose not to report to camp...but would you walk away from 21k/day? lol

He can say it privately, or let his agent say something. Columbus fans are sick of it too I'm sure.

Yeeeeeaahh. Det, Pitt, NYR, and SJ... some of the shrewdest GMs in the league. Philly is the worst fit, they need D help and cheap players to offset some cap. Spent the most valuable Nash chip for Schenn. Carolina isn't trading their #2 center. Unless he means a homerun with CLB pitching?
Pitt could win out by flipping Sutter, but talk about cap problems and a weak bottom 6 ontop of the defensive issues.
Pitt and Philly, if truly involved, are just trying to prevent us from stealing Nash. Nash is not going to PA.
Is it just me??? Based on the new FA signings is R. Nash's contract a steal? If this guy can play decent hockey a 7.8 mil contract is looking better and better. Most importantly, the acquirer doesn't have to up the pay for 6 yrs. That might be a steal in today's market?
I'm looking at those that throw out names like sign Doan, or SEmin.
It might help to throw a dollar amount and contract length you believe they would sign for. I suspect that the players might be less interesting once you understand how much it will cost to sign them?
Is the Rangers offer for Nash really a blockbuster? Dubi is in every deal. What else are the Rangers throwing in? Miller and a draft choice? AA and a draft choice? Can someone please? tell me what the Rangers are offering that another team can't match?
Looking at the Parise and Suter contracts maybe Howsen isn't proving to be so dumb by waiting?
Nash definitely expanded his list after not budging for weeks. Happens to land on the day Suter and Parise destroy Columbus' only hope for negotiations.

They have always been on Nash but i definitely remember reports over the weeks saying Nash never put philly on his list and didnt want to go there and it was pretty much just NYR and SJ. This whole thing has really just turned into a mess. I wish they would just go get Ryan. If it costs Stepan then so be it. Ryan is a star or can easily be one in the league, Stepan will not be one.

What can we offer? We can be a team Nash waives his NTC for. It doesn't have to be a blockbuster deal. In fact, it kind of has to trend towards a steal for us.
Nash is setting the market. Highest bidder is irrelevant unless Nash deems them relevant.

Stepan scored 45 points in his rookie season, and 51 in his sophomore.
