In Russia Radulov has a lot more high-caliber player status than Semin has. (Radulov tears KHL year in and year out and Semin was not that good in his seasons in Russia)
But it's very probable that some KHL team would be able to give big money to Semin if there is a chance to get him out of NHL.

Radulov has pretty much everything he could dream of in the KHL, except for the Stanley Cup, but for all we know his top goal in hockey could just as easily be the olympic gold or even world championship. For some people their country means much more than money, and in the case of Radulov he has both going for him with the KHL.

Personally, I would love to see the Russians build a respectable league. The Swedes need to improve theirs too.

I dream of a hockey Champions league one day.

It will have to be a European Championship league. Nobody in North America is interested in it, not the league, players or fans.

I was hoping that he wouldn't leave NA.

Not surprised one bit. Good riddance to a gutless player.

Yeah, us mighty swedes with a population around 9 mil, should improve our league, so we can match NA & Russia.

And if you consider the amount of talent that get shipped to the NHL and KHL for peanuts - How can we ever compete with the big nations to keep a really high standard?
We're doing it pretty good now as it is.
No?

And don't start with the: Add Finland-Norway to the league. It will NOT work in Sweden.

He gets to play in the country he loves for far more money than he would ever make in the NHL. I fail to understand the criticism here. Good for him!

And the NHL cares very little about him. But now, because of his selfishness, every russian player going forward who's dreamed of hoisting the Stanley Cup will be scrutinized like you wouldn't believe. Is he trustworthy? How's his character? Will be be a contract breaker, too?

The "Russian factor" would still exist with or without Radulov.
