Simmonds is a 28 goal scorer who played third line minutes. You put Simmonds in a top six role (and it's possible that he might move to a top six role this year) and there's no reason to believe he can't pot 35 to 40 goals. Kassian hasn't shown he can be a player. He had most of his 10 points in a two week span with the Sabres. Huge no to that trade. And to think some believe the Flyers would have to add to the deal.........

There's no need for a trade like this. Simmer is staying.

Character questions with Kassian. I'd keep Simmer...if we're getting a bad character guy I'd prefer not giving up any players for Semin, frankly. Love Kassian's potential, but consider that potential and Buffalo gave up on it.

I've never heard character questions with kassian. In fact ive only heard the opposite the 'overcoming adversity' piece and such... Have you heard his backstory?

Anyways i think buffalo moved him b/c they got an overpayment. I think vancuver was the one who 'gave up' on their prospect (hodgson apparently wasnt working out in their system)

I can't remember any specifics, some of the TSN guys alluded to it when the trade happened and talked about it like it was common knowledge that there were some questions about him. As I recall it wasn't anything particularly damning, more work ethic/intensity stuff if I remember right. If that's not the case then he becomes a bit more attractive as a target; I do love his tools.

I'm in the minority here and I'd do this trade. I dont think the Flyers have a nasty enough edge up front and could use the size regardless of what some think . And the whole theory that if you hit someone too hard and too clean and still get a Penalty (just because you wear Orange N black) is a hilarious statement

How would people feel about a simmonds for kassian swap?

Who would have to add to make it even?
Who would have to 'overpay' to make it happen?
So racist.

Think he might get it now, or are you still not being obvious enough?

And more years of team control before free agency. Plus we are dealing a player at what could be his peak value.

In a vacuum, there are good reasons to take Kassian over Simmonds. But I still don't think it's the right roll of the dice for the Flyers right now.
