Brendan Ranford invited to Montreal Canadiens training camp.

20 years old, 7th round selection of Philadelphia in 2010. 92 points in 69 games with Kamloops in the WHL this past season. Solid invite IMO.

http://www.examiner.com/article/mats...ing-to-twitter

Rumors are that his conditioning was the reason the Flyers did not sign him and he re-entered the 2012 draft where he obviously was not re-selected.

He must be awfully terrible at something to not get offered a contract, then get skipped over in the draft. He put up solid-great numbers. He's 5'10 and seems to have some bite to his game.

I know how this one will turn out.

He will come to camp, be released and will then be signed by the Tampa Bay Lightning.

Ranford — who was drafted in 2010 by the Philadelphia Flyers, but not signed — has not yet accepted the Canadiens’ offer.

“That’s where I’m thinking of going, but we’ll see,” he said on Wednesday, July 4.

Ranford, should he accept, will join fellow Blazer Tim Bozon at camp in Montreal.

Bozon was selected by the Habs last month in the third round of the NHL Entry Draft in Pittsburgh.

Lipon and Blazer linemate Colin Smith will get a chance to explore Colorado together in September,

Smith was drafted last month by the Avs in the seventh round.

The Lighting really are the Habs trash bin and it has worked really well for them so far

Has Darche signed there yet?

Now I have a very good idea why this Ranford kid was not signed by the Flyers and then passed over by everyone in the draft.

He has a serious attitude problem. He is given a chance by the Habs and he replies with a "we'll see"?

Send this idiot down the road to nowhere.

I really liked Ranford in his draft year, had him ranked as a top 70 guy, yet he went in the 7th round.

He was having a great year the following season, was leading the league in goals early on, but ran into some off ice issues from what I was told...seemed to get it back together.

Yeah, really.

Hey Ranford, you're not ****ing Parise. No one wanted you, now someone does.

I'm really hoping he said that because other teams invited him.

Come on.....as much a 7th round he can be, he might have a couple of offers to weigh in whether it's here or something more tangible in Europe.

92 points in 69 games = potential 2nd line center = 7.5 C

Cool, as a Blazers fan I've always liked him and I was disappointed when he was drafted by the Flyers. Solid.

These things never hurt. Who knows, could be good for Hamilton if he tries hard.

This exactly the kind of closed minded attitude that can keep a team from uncovering gems. Not to say he is a gem but with all of our 'player development' guys, it is certainly worth trying to get a talented player back on track.

He has a serious attitude problem?? It would be interesting to know how you drew that conclusion.

I'm sure they've seen a lot of him while scouting Bozon. Hopefully he attends. Hopefully they give Josh Nicholls a tryout too. Deitz and Thrower's teammate.
