Yeah I am not sure. From reading Ansar daily, I know he is very reliable.

I'm not sure which personnel you were referring too? We haven't lost anyone the last few days...

Detroit failed to acquire Suter, which would address the loss of Lidstrom and Stuart. Not personnel losses per se, but it would represent a failure to address earlier losses.

Frankly, I am surprised to hear the Wings in Nash rumors and Doan. The rumors do not seem to address Detroit's main shortcomings now.

Yeah, i think the Nash trade idea was before the Suter deal. I agree about the D. I think if Holland is going to make a trade it should be for a Defenseman like Yandle. They would still push to aquire Semin and Doan to bolster the offense. This is virtually the same offense as last year, with a few upgrades, and last year we were pretty good.

Doan is the only Yotes player who had been there for 15 years. Most of the others had only been there for a few seasons. Like everyone else in the NHL (except Doan, apparently), they've all moved around from team to team as a standard, expected part of their jobs.

According to Wikipedia's "current roster" for the Yotes, all but four of their players (including Doan) were acquired within the last five years.

Anyways, if Doan doesn't sign with Phoenix he will sign with a contender. After what Minnesota just did in signing Parise and Suter I wouldn't be surprised if the Wild is now on his list to sign. Chances are he will sign with either San Jsoe or LA beofre the Wild though or Calgary for that matter.
I won't be surprised if he stays in the west either, especially if it's with an American team. For all of his supposed patriotism, Doan doesn't seem all that interested in moving back to Canada for work.

If I am Ray Shero I would go hard after Doan. He could be a nice winger for Crosby for the next 2 years while RS continues to search for a more long term guy now that Parise is out of the picture.

I would be shocked if Doan signs outside of the Pacific division.

I do not doubt the credulity of Ansar Kahn. Maybe just a little bit of a mix up. I'm sure Doan's agent has been on the phone with Detroit. As to who called who seeking what, I believe Detroit initiated talks.

We may not have to wait until the 8th. I understand the group collecting signatures to put the Yotes arena lease to a public vote has collected the necessary signatures and will be turning them in early. This may have been what he was waiting for - the signatures were due on the seventh or eighth.

Really hoping he lands with the Kings. Only an hour flight to Phoenix...

I want this guy to play for the Sharks, adds veteran leadership, plays hard-nosed, banger and scorer.

Marleau - JT - Pavelski/Doan
Clowe - Couture - Havlat
Wingels - Pavelski/3C - Galiardi

You've misread Halverstadt's tweet: http://twitter.com/LisaHalverstadt/s...36786694782978

The sales tax initiative (a related issue, but not the same issue) has received enough signatures for early turn-in. **Not** the referendum for the arena lease.

Oh, OK. I didn't see the tweet, just going off a forum post. Thanks for the correction. What's the sales tax initiative?

detroit has gotten worse with the loss of key players and they were barely contending for the cup last year. right now they are at best a 6-7 place team. chicago is weak in goal and there are several teams above them contending for the cup. only threatening teams left in the west are the Kings and Canucks and even the canucks are on their way down.

Which also means they do not have the required amount of signatures, yet.

I don't understand this talk about going to a contender, Didn't the Coyotes go all the way to the Western Conference Finals? Wouldn't that make them contenders?

It sounds like without the additional tax revenue, Glendale will have a hard time paying Jamison. It appears that either of these signature initiatives could put a halt to Jamison's plan.

Whitney gone, Aucoin gone, Roszival possibly gone, Pyatt gone, rumors that they are trying to trade Yandle, ownership problem, there's quite many things...

What about Colorado?

Or do we count as part of the Pacific since we'll probably be moved there after realignment? haha

He said the NYR will be an option if he goes to another team. They will go hard for him. He fits the team identity and he'd be a 5th/6th forward on the team instead of having to be the guy. He'd also be joining a Cup contender. Doan will seriously consider the Rangers.

5th or 6th? Haha. You have four or five 60pt two way forwards?
