I'm hoping Detroit gets him, and I am fairly certain they will. My question about Detroit: What are they going to do about their D since they lost the Suter sweepstakes?

I think he's going to Detroit too since he doesnt have to be the main guy, Zetterberg, Datsyuk,etc.................Wings will get Carle if not they are screwed. Carle doesnt replace Lidstrom but hes a good player

Matt Carle is not a good defensemen. Horrible defensively, over handles the puck on the breakout, not really that great of a PPQB.

Red Wings fans would be slashing their wrists over the massive drop in talent.

Yeah but how many threads did we have lol. The Luongo situation is pretty bad too but I've totally avoided that.

Quick question:

Cause I have been confused about this.

Is it beneficial for Yotes to get those signatures or not get them? I have read conflicting comments.
Sorry I didn't get to answer this before the last thread closed.

No it is not beneficial to see this go to referendum. The Glendale resolution and lease with the Jamison group becomes official July 8th. If there is no referendum, it is the fully effective. There seems to be some question whether the law becomes effective if the referendum qualifies for a vote but that may be a moot point.

So most likely they are staying in Phoenix for the time being?

Portzline's window for a trade 2nd-5th is rapidly closing. He'll just extend it again.

The Richards saga was particularly torturous because it involved us directly. I still have nightmares about delusional Leaf fans saying they're just as good as we are. Morons.

He meant July 2nd-5th of 2017. The last year of Nash's deal

Funny, I thought the whole situation wasn't nerve wracking at all. I mean I was slightly concerned about LA's proposal. But LA did not make much sense after the Richards trade.

Leafs were never a serious contender. They threw money and that was about it.

The most hilarious thing about that signing, the Rangers got Richards for a reasonable price. Especially after this current market.

I loved that 8 teams made appointments, showed up in suit, tie, video and powerpoint presentation. He said no to all of them.

Glen Sather picked up the phone, made the call, rattled off a few numbers.

I think it was well known where he was going LONG before. I think they only did that whole circus to avoid tampering.

I wouldn't be surprised if Nash's people have a com line to Sather's people.
