I totally agree Fletch, however, the Jackass running this team has been quoted several times in the last month as saying he viewed Lundmark as primarily a center. Which means that Jaime is going to be stuck on the 4th line/out of the lineup for while.
Funny how the first 3 years of Sather's regime, there was no acknowledgement of the fact that players were constantly playing out of position. Suddenly, in year 4, Sather gets religion and is obsessed with never playing anyone out of position--except Lindros, of course.
anything to keep Jamie down is what Sather will do. What I do not understand, though, is what's happened to Carter. I missed the FLA game and the Tampa game, but the prior 5 or 6 games he was the one working hard to get the Nedved line going; he carried them. Is there a showcasing going on? Had Carter been showcased and a deal is on the table? Unfortunately nothing with Sather makes sense. I know in the past I 'defended' him somewhat, in certain regards, but right now I see a guy with little patience, little plan (or should I say one that keeps changing) and thus a guy with little clue. The amazing part, though, is the more unclear he becomes, the better the team gets (amazing what you can do when a couple stars are going and you get stellar goaltending - we've seen this before though, and can it last?).
Actually, I thought he was better at center than left wing. He's doing well as a right wing when he gets the playing time and the right linemates. So actually, you could argue that there are plenty of old, overpaid schlubs blocking him.

I also agree about Carter--I thought he had pretty much recovered from his bad start and was actually showing some chemisty with Nedved before he got slashed. Of course, Sather had to sit him out tonight (although Hlavac actually had one of his best games this season I thought) no doubt because he didn't want to "disrupt" the great chemistry his "team" is showing.
It will be interesting to see what changes to the lineup he makes on Tuesday. Lindros didn't play badly--although, I find the way Jackass is treating him to be more than a little weird. Lundmark got over two minutes killing penalties (lucky him, otherwise it would have been another 5 minute night at the office) and didn't do anything to earn another benching, not that he "dominated" or anything. I wouldn't be surprised if Carter replaced Scott in the lineup.
And yes, the only time we've seen good hockey the last 5-6 years is when the coach gets lucky and hits upon the right combination and then has enough brains to leave it be and let them create something on the ice. Let's hope that Sather has another vision and we can get a 2nd combination going before the 1st one runs out of steam and gets broken up abruptly.
