Actually from what I know, the league doesn't either, it was purchased to be used in another league and that never came to be, so I think its still owned by an individual person. That being said, it would be fun to see the Wild dawn those jerseys even if it was just for a game. It will be interesting to see what changes happen because of all of the new attention the Wild have gained.

I don't care that he left.

I don't care because he went home and the money was right, I can respect him for that.

What pisses me off is the smoke he blew for a entire yr in NJ while he and Suter have been setting this up.

I get they will be better, but there are many teams that were winning without Parise that he and Suter could have put over the top.

Minnesota simply went from a bad team to a playoff team.

gotta disagree with that one...he's getting 35 mil in the first three years (including 2 bonuses)..that is crazy money for Zach Parise. I'm not saying the Devils weren't offering a ton and I'm not saying Zach isnt a good player.

Wow, I come home from work to this? Congrats Wild fans! It's good to see them go to anyone but the usual suspects. Got to think the Wild will make the playoffs for sure!

Predicted this signing a week ago, not surprised in the slightest:

What he is trying to say is that, if Parise and/or Suter were chasing money and were mercs they would have gone to the places that rumor has it were offering the same if not more money.

Montreal visits Minnesota once, three weeks into the season, and gets the hell out of there for good. We'll take the early bump to be rid of that dagger for the year!

Seriously though, Minnesota's looking dangerous right now. I hope those contracts don't handcuff them in upcoming seasons if it doesn't turn out as well as they'd hoped, or if the players don't develop chemistry on the team (which has been known to happen).

Everyone must forget the rags signing Drury & Gomez. Worked out well for a few seasons, then went downhill in a hurry.

How dare he not tell the team he was planning on moving so they could trade him to another team when maybe he still wanted to try win a Cup with his teammates and came within a few wins of doing so...

I get the anger Devils fans likely have over losing a player they drafted then developed but honestly, it's up to him at this point.

I am a Minnesota Fan that is glad it wasn't in effect, but I think that the cap # for each year, should be their actual salary amount made that year.

For example, someone signs a 3 year 9 Mil contract for $5/$3/#1, the cap hit should be $5/$3/$1, not $3/$3/$3.

I'm sensing a bit of ********, but trust me it gets better. Trust me, as a Minnesota fan I've dealt with losing a ton of our best players like Brunette, Park, Rolston, Demitra(RIP), and Gabby. It sucks, but it will get better, and the Devils have the strength to compete in the East unlike the Wild who whenever they'd get gutted they'd be useless the next year.

Also this big deal makes our team a playoff team. That was the goal of our management, all they wanted was a playoff berth and to see if they could get the team to make a run. This will do just that. Anything can happen in the playoffs, so we'll just see where it goes.

Even though I am a Flyer fan and I wanted to get one of Parise or Suter, I am truly happy for Minnesota....great Hockey fans that deserve a Playoff team and now you have it....

Don't let the naysayers get you down....you have got two young studs for a long time...it was expensive but you guys are going to now be playoff bound and once in there....anything can happen!!

I am just thankful Pittsburgh didn't get these guys.....

Parise won't ever live up to neither the length or salary.

Lou Lam should of tried harder and started talking extension earlier.

I don't fault the guy for coming home, UFA is a players right, he gave the Devils the mandatory service, after that he owes them nothing, same goes for Suter.

The posters who say we only become a playoff team and the won't win here, well as of right now our future is looking mighty bright and we have some very very good prospects coming up, in a few years we'll be in a position to contend. They can win here, and they know it.

Interesting fact, Parise had 69 pts this year, and Drury had 69 pts the season before he signed with the Rangers. I think we know where this is headed
