I got a feeling if they did land Suter, they'd deal Mezsaros and keep Voracek.

IF we wind up with no Suter and no Carle we will be forced into either staying put on D or adding someone like Rozsival, Clark or Hannan. FML.

Some darkhorse forwards I could see the Flyers being interested in would be Jiri Hudler, Daniel Winnik, Dominic Moore, Kyle Wellwood, Peter Mueller, Taylor Pyatt, and even Gilbert Brule. Wouldn't be disappointed in any of them especially if they came cheap (which it looks like they will) ...

Here's hoping for Suter or Parise or if neither comes here, Matt Carle. If not let's hope we can make a trade to improve without giving up Schenn or Couturier.

Here's a list of guys that might be available at the trade deadline. They are all upcoming UFA and are on teams that I think have a chance to miss the playoffs or might be looking to move due to inability to re-sign in the offseason. We might just save a bunch of money and go after one or two of these guys at the deadline. The lineup above should be good enough to get us into the playoffs.

Jarome Iginla
Daniel Alfredsson
Lubomir Visnovsky
Sergei Gonchar
Brenden Morrow
Tobias Enstrom
Simon Gagne
Ryane Clowe
Michael Ryder
Alexander Edler
Douglas Murray
Brad Boyes

well, i think voracek will get more that 3.5, we probably will give him 4 for a few years to finish out his RFA contract.

That said...I'm not at all opposed to Semin 1 yr, 8m, but I doubt he takes that. He, like everyone is probably looking for a cush longterm deal.

Dead serious. People act like semin is garbage.

Not much damage can be done in 1 yr and Snider has cap space to use. I mean if we had 15m is space and nobody left to spend it on then I'd give the guy 10m for a single season.

If carle had been receptive i would have given him 6m for this year.

I mean we paid Briere 10mil in his first year...he's not a 10m a year guy either.

He deserves NO WHERE near 8M. NO WHERE. Also, if it's true he's a locker room cancer, I want him no where near this team.

Briere was coming off a 95 point season when he was signed by the Flyers.

still not worth 10m. That was probably the most money to any player that year.

Are you saying contract wise out of all players at the time or do you mean the highest paid UFA that offseason?

Shrug. It was front loaded.

Random fact: He'll make 7 this year, then 3, then 2.

I mean that he probably pocketed the most cash in that one year from salary.

I realize that his cap hit isn't that and it was a front loaded deal.

I don't think semin is a 8m per year player either...but to fill a spot for 1 year...do what it takes. Can't bank salary cap space.

Coburn, longest-tenured Flyer on the active roster, signed to a hometown discount when he could have cashed in this off-season. It would be the right thing to do to at least offer it to him first.

Jagr had the A for maybe two games due to injuries.
