Hey JGK, the pitching prospects look bright. Ethan Martin is having a strong comeback season in AA. With him, Chris Reed, Zach Lee, and Nathan Eovaldi, we look good with the pitching. Time to ship Billingsley. He's not gonna be part of the future that will be led by Kershaw. But Martin, Lee, and Reed are still in AA. Their developments are gonna be ruined when they move up to AAA in Querque.

Can Ferderowicz play 3rd or 1st?

Haha, was expecting someone to start this thread here. Good move for the Lakers. Kobe finally has a PG who can set him up.

Fed Ex can't even hit in Alb. He's all glove behind the plate. If he had to be a first or 3b he wouldn't be in any level of baseball.

I just have to marvel at an incredibly busy sports news day, given that it's a holiday...two huge NHL FAs make their choices and then this trade.

And I thought this was going to be a lesiurely 4th!

The Lakers continue to bet on black while mortgaging any chance of being competative in 3 years. The Lakers are old and give away their draft picks every year. The lakers do not need a typical PG. They need young legged PG who can play D and pass the rock. Nash is 40 and is amongst the worst defenders in basketball. He can drive the net and pass but so could Sessions. The common theme is that neither could defend. The Lakers give up two first and two seconds for a 40 year old PG. The first in 2015 is going to be 15-20.

I love this deal, the problem as usual will be the bench. It sucks.

Maybe this deal gives Howard more incentive to come to LA?

Either way this makes the Lakers scary good again and not above average.

Bynum and Artest for Howard and Richardson GET ER DONE!

never liked the Suns, but Nash is still an all-star caliber pg and first ballot HOF. cant play a lick of defense so will be interesting to see how this works out.

he's also not a high mpg player he needs his rest so hopefully they can resign sessions, put him back on the bench as a "change of pace" speedy transition pg like he should be...instead of what Mike Brown tried to force him into (although it was what was needed on the first unit).

overall i am impressed since just the other day he said he was old-school and had to many battles with LA to ever join them...guess it was a smoke screen?

Surprising, but should be good for us.

For the longest time, I said Nash will be on the lakers one day and I am right.

Hopefully the Lakers can land Grant Hill as well or some help from OKC.

The Lakers are on the path to getting #17 in the next 3 seasons.

Sooooo excited!!!!

Even worse than before. But at least Nash is a consistent offensive threat, where Fisher really wasn't.

first thought that came to mind is Malone and Payton, guys past their prime who are reaching for a championship on a team that is more rep then talent.

and Nash is 38

That's what comes to mine here, I still don't see the Lakers getting past the 2nd round of the playoffs even with Nash. And 2 first round picks for him? That seems like alot to me.

crazy day, parise (not a big surprise) and sutter (thought he was detroit bound) signing with the wild and the nash deal that no one saw coming. i love that nash deal. kobe no longer has to carry the offense on his back and we no longer have to run the inefficent kobe iso. the only problem is that we still have to see how players like kobe and bynum react to playing with nash when nash loves to have the ball and create plays for others and they both love those iso situations whether its kobe on the wing (or in the post) or if its bynum down on the low block. this trade definitely makes us one of the top challengers to okc in the west

NBA draft is nothing like the NHL draft. Out of the top 10 your lucky if 1 or 2 are franchise players. Their is usually one bonafied player that will make an impact.

If they move Bynum for Howard. And Gasol for Josh Smith(ATL) then the Lakers will be scary on both ends since Howard and Smith are both first team defensive players. And none of them are soft.

we will lose $30 mill off the books when kobe decides to call it quits. we will have a lot of room for mitch to use. my only fear is that they let jim be to involved in the decision making process when it comes to picking people up. ive never been a fan of jim
