And he has to artificially inject excitement into his voice because it does not do that naturally. And because he screws a lot of stuff up. And because Gopher Hockey fans who do not watch the Wild were celebrating because his promotion meant that they no longer had to listen to him anymore.
He has the personality of a tumbleweed with a touch of arrogance, no chemistry with the his "boothmates". Hopefully he can loosen up alot, or maybe we'll get a bonus and Greenlay will punch him in the nose during a live airing
Yeah I have to question the "big improvement" statement. I would say he will likely be a marginal improvement at best, and "OMG PUNCTURE MY EARDRUMS" at worst.
I think both are / were equally talented in their jobs, both are bottom 5 in the league.
but LaPanta's voice is so *** annoying to me.
I seriously can't believe to this day that they fired Terhaar for LaPanta. What is the point? I can't wait to see the product on the ice, but couldn't be less enthused to have to listen to our broadcast.
I wish they would have waited until free agency to hire a new play by play. With all the interest in the Wild at this point, I have to think the Wild would have had a hard time hiring LaPanta now with all the raised expectations.
Someone should write something about that. The expectations have been raised everywhere except the TV broadcast.
