They get a 2C in Steen.
If they get Nash they have to include 1st and good prospect also.
Stern hasn't played center since his days in Toronto. There is talk of trying to move him over as our 3rd line center, but that might not happen either.
You might want to pursue a 2nd line C elsewhere as the Blues are short on centers as it is.
Steen is just good if not better than Dubinsky and he's on a cheaper contract. There's no way Armstrong makes that trade. Lateral trades are not going to happen
No doubt Steen is a solid player, but career PPG averages are about the same. Dubinsky is as good defensively and better physically.
If I were going to target anyone on the Blues it would be Berglund.

Dubinsky and a 2nd for Berglund is brutal. Berglund is already a better player, plus that creates a hole at center. Have you ever seen Steen play keep away by himself? It's unbelievable. He's a better player than Dubinsky. He's more consistent. Even when he's not scoring he's making an impact on the game.
You have as much of a chance at landing Etem as we have of landing Kreider.
Probably even less. If Etem is moved it's for something stupid like a 70 point winger. Until his ELC expires that is.

Yeah if you add like 3 big pieces. That's like me saying hur dur, Bobby Ryan can only be packaged for guys like Giroux, Stamkos, Crosby, Parise etc.
Stepan is good, but he's no big time center that teams will break the bank for. 51 points coming back you better be throwing in Kreider and Staal if you want the twins, and that's being generous. That's just a starting point.
Id take that deal from an Anaheim POV. Erixon is NHL ready right now. Then we can move Lydman for depth up front and Fowler, Sbisa Erixon is a hell of a core to build around.
