He's got two years left on his deal and I'm sure Montreal would love to get out of that deal. Thought his cap hit would 4.5 but it's 5 mil. Just a thought. I think he can be had for cheap.

A PP with kovy and Zids on the point and Semin, Elias, and henrique up front would be pretty sick.

No I do not want to troll. Certainly not...It was just hypothetical, as are all the different things being discussed here.Unless you take what some posters say here at face value (not saying it cannot be true, but I donīt want to speculate too much). Kovy signs in LA, we will hate him, some will say, let him go to that team, we are better off, he was too expensive anyways, he is just a mercenary who obviously wants nothing more but not to win the cup. Then again, had Kovy chosen LA, he would have made the decision to leave us and go to a winner instead. Because, quite frankly, I love this team, I just donīt consider this team a winning franchise anymore, regardless of that fantastic season last year.

Do not want a 35 year old brian gionta. I will be fine with his brother. Semin has this lazy mistique and that turns me off but he certainly has one of the best wrist shots in the game. PERIOD. He might do well with Kovy, but he isnt doing too well with Ovie so I don't know. Doan is a trooper and a good leader. But he is old, he would just be a stop gap. Nash ehhh wants too much and just don't think he is all that good.

NJ doesn't have too many options now. Nor the assets to make an awesome deal.

1. No way Lou signs anyone major now.
2. No way Lou does any extensions with Zajac before the new CBA gets signed.

Prediction: Cap drops as a result of players getting less of a percentage of the pie, no rollback of salaries (not with Fehr in charge). Amnesty buyout period for teams over new cap. Many players available at deep discounts. UFA age goes to 29. Sorry Travis, you were born a year too late!

Tedenby needs one of two things. A real shot at producing as a top-6 player or a trade.

I say we give him a shot on one of the first two lines for a while and see what he's got.

So does Alex Semin's agent answer the phone with, "Hello, Plan B speaking?".

Not that he disappointed per say but Viktor Stalberg? Mueller is an obvious one as a UFA. D'Agostini? Fehr UFA? Injured last season but 'Peg is home. Would Little be available?

No flaming or attacking, just throwing names out there and trying to beat Lou to the obscure punch.
I like those names a lot, for various reasons.

They all have pros and cons, just like Semin, though.

I'd start Tedenby on the 3rd line. If he can't play there then he shouldn't be given top line minutes. EVERYONE that has produced as a Devil that started here was able to play bottom line minutes and play well in their own end.

Tedenby is no exception.

I am surprised he doesn't want to play in the KHL. I guess he doesn't want to make the most money and actually cares about playing against the best.

Now Zajac leaving would be a bigger hit then Parise. Center position in the NHL is tough to fill and a top center is gold. If you are strong down the middle you can play against anyone in this league and the Devils aer actualyl pretty strong down the middle with Zajac, Henrique and Joesfson. I think Joesfson is going to be a good player. Going to take a 6 year deal at 36mil. Offer it and see where it goes. A 1st line center in UFA the price skyrockets.

Didn't this team go to the playoffs for 15 straight years prior to the debacle of 2010? I don't think you can say we aren't a winning franchise anymore when we have that kind of success and got right back to the playoffs this year AND got to the finals.

Gagner would prolly cost more. MPS could be a homerun, but I`m not sure our scouts have been focusing on him in the past two years.

one guy they might look to move is burmistrov. apparently he and the coaches don't see eye to eye. similar to yayo in that he hasn't put it together offensively yet, but he oozes talent and is good defensively. can play all forward positions too. could put him on the hole on the 3rd line and go from there.

only guys from that team i would really want are little, burmistrov, enstrom, bogosian, hainsey, stuart, and pavelec. everyone else there is a train wreck waiting to happen, imo.
Oh man, if Burmi was available I`d do backflips 24/7 for more than a week.

I was just saying he is stupid for the sake of saying he is stupid. Why? Because he *IS* Stupid.

I think Semin will probably go to either Detroit or Pittsburgh.

I don't see him going to a near-cap floor team unless they overpay drastically.

I'd also be lying to you if I said didn't get goosebumps thinking about Semin playing with Kovy on a line or even better on a line with Zubrus or Henriqu. I have no question Semin would succeed here, especially if he gets the right linemates.
