Maybe Lou figured he could replace Parise's empty netters?

Does this bring us to the cap floor or were we there already with Sal?

Our PP needs to shift to an umbrella strategy if we want to be successful. I really think we need an assistant coach that wants to run that.

Zidlicky at the top, Kovy is the left shooter, Zajac is the left net humper, Zubrus the right net humper, and our right shooter TBA. Semin fits there if signed, Henrique or Elias could play there as well.

We were close enough, and signing Fayne would have gotten us there.

We were short as of 10 minutes ago, so this brings us there.

That's not Lou's thinking though. We only have 11 forwards and Fayne hasn't signed yet, so we were going to reach the floor regardless.

I was thinking of saying a comment regarding Semin and the 'humper' moniker but I decided that I love my time posting here in this forum.

You wonder if our coaches realized that our most badass ppg came off the umbrella formation...and seemed to be the more sucessful one...case in point Kovalchuk game 6 ppgs...

With a PP that is less Parise driven, we should do this. Elias would be on the half boards as always.

Devils and Edmonton seem like good trading partners. Edmonton needs reliable, middle-pairing defensemen, which we are flush with, and have an abundance of skill up front, which we now need.

I'd love to see something around Hemsky. I like MSP a lot too, and his stock might be down.

The more I think about it, the more I feel like Semin is a perfect fit for this team.

If he played defense.

Wasn't that the overload strategy? All 4 skaters were on the right side and Kovy cheated down on the left side.

Jared tweeted about a Tallinder/Hemsky based proposal.

Semin's defense is very underrated. He's good on the PK and has a good stick.

Devils probably don't need to worry too much about that area, with Zajac, Kovy, Elias, Zubrus, Josefson, and Henrique. But Dominic Moore would fit the bill.

Just do the same brainwashing they did on Kovy and he'll be fine.

With Zajac and Zubrus, you have two good faceoff guys in case one gets tossed. The umbrella gives Kovy a lot more freedom to get lost while the puck isn't on his stick which is where he is most effective. Defenses can't just assume he's on the blueline waiting for a one timer, because when they assume that, you get the goal Kovy scored against the Panthers in game 6.

Is Moore a Free Agent?

If so, how much would it take to get him?
