NJ is not going to move Henrique or Larsson under any circumstance. The oilers are not going to move Yakupov or Eberle. Don't even waste bandwith with these names.

Volchenkov brings hitting and blocked shots and would help the oilers for sure. He is 30 though and his game leads to body wear down.

I would be ok with something around Tallinder + Urbom + 2nd for Hemsky + Omark + 4th

If Tallinder is 100% healthy he could really help the Oilers but a blood clot is scary and he is already 33. Trade seems fair because Hemsky could really help the Devils...but once again if he is 100% healthy. Urbom is in there because the Oilers would need a decent young piece/prospect coming back for getting 5 years older in the main player swap.

Henrique is even less likely to be moved, especially with Parise gone. Gagner doesn't have the value you think he does, and Yakupov is a great prospect who has yet to play an NHL game.

Problem is we don't have a 2nd in 2013 because Minny gets it from the Zidlicky trade.

I would do Hemsky+Peckham+Omark for Volchenkov.
The Oilers need more veteran presence on the blue line. Peckham can easily rebound to his play from 10-11 but he's young. Too young for our current D core.

Volchenkov has already lost a step and towards the end of his contract (when the Oilers are hopefully a top team) I have a feeling he will be pretty out of place on an NHL roster.

I know he brings the grit and toughness we need on D but he gets burned on the rush quite badly and isn't fleet footed whatsoever.

That is outrageous. Bad for the oilers. Volchenkov is a decent player but he's hardly top 3.

Hemsky straight up for Volch sounds fine to me. We have other big D in the works coming up. Volchenkov didn't seem that effective in the playoffs and he was the reason we almost lost to Florida.

Also, the Yakupov and Gagner for Larsson, Henrique and 2 2nds...are you on crack? lol
yeah i would ignore all posts regarding kovalchuck Henrique etc. Obviously those people dont know much and are derailing what was a good thread of hemsky for Volch.

Nevermind that a Volchenkov is what this team really needs and, as stated by everyone and their mom, we have so much depth on RW that our new coach stated at the presser that Hemmer will have to be open to playing LW. He doesnt like LW at all... and has been pretty vocal in the past about that.
Anyone dumb enough to bring up Kovalchuk and that contract is obviously not being serious when we have 4-6 guys who will be looking for MASSIVE raises in the next 3 years. Adding Henrique to that would be a nightmare. People are either trolling or short bus riders.

Back on topic. Volch for Hemmer.

We will gladly take him. Its really a question of whether he would come to western canada where the travel is alot worse. Id even do the straight up deal. He would help our team more than Hemsky at this point based on our roster needs. From a NJ perspective i do think Kov-Elias-Hemsky would be fn sick.

I would love to get Zajac as our 2nd line centreman. Will he stay in NJ, what would it take to get him, only if we can resign him of course.

What about PRV for Zajac? You guys need wingers and we need a number 2 centreman? We then resing him long term and our top 6 is set.
Hall; RNH; Eberle
Hemsky; Zajac; Yak

Gagner is traded away for dman help. You have to like those two lines.

Your not getting Zajac...don't even bother bringing him up...he's not a #2 center anyway

Yes we do. Minnesota gets our third next season, not our second. The second rounder involved in the deal was Washington's second rounder from this year.

Zajac isn't going anywhere, and he's much more valuable than MPS.

Morons always come in and ruin decent threads with players that are obviously not available. In other boards you can actually ignore posts by people who do that. Dont even respond to them.

Back to topic...

Hemsky for Volchenkov +. Hats off to OP for a good thread idea. Just ignore the short bussers.
