Someone's bound to get injured at some point and barch is better than janssen so being scratched for a good amount of games and spot starts against the rivals won't hurt

I think this was Poni's replacement...

yeah...

urrrg.

Didn't Barch make a racist comment at Subban at one point? Why would Lou sign someone like that?

He's a great locker room presence. That's literally it. Hes good at nothing else at all.

Have fun.

No, not in Florida anyway.

Barch is a good 4th liner, but I don't think he's better than Boulton.

Boulton was absolute trash for us...I like the Barch signing though.

He'll probably see about 30 games a year, like Janssen.

Yeah, not a huge fan but oh well. Boulton was awful last year, so just do better than him.

Cheap project player. Pittsburgh can't really do much else at this point, even with Staal gone. Cheers.

was going to ask, what can us Isles expect from Boulton? He he just a goon or a solid fourth line checker?

I just do not understand this signing at all. Why buy Boulton out if he wanted to keep a goon on the roster?

Great response to losing Parise. Should replace him well. (Kidding)

At least NJ/NYR games will be more interesting.

How reliable is this source? I don't see any mention of this anywhere else.

From what we know in Atlanta, he had some talent to be a good 4th line checker, it just never materialized here for whatever reason. He was never on for a goal for the entire season, take that for what it's worth.

I imagine he will play better on the Islanders.

It's on NHL.com.

This signing really doesn't make any sense at all.

Apparently Subban fell, and Barch asked him if he "slipped on a banana peel." Racist comment or poor choice of words..... For what its worth, Barch called Subban later to explain that it was not a racist comment.

Ahh not as bad as I thought. Well either way I hope this was just an afterthought for Lou.

Is the contract heavily front loaded for Barch?

I too don't get this one. Boulton out, Barch in a few days later. Lou must feel Barch is the better player than Boulton, but with the 4th line set and Janssen re-signed, I don't get why they need both him and Barch. Unless they plan on Janssen playing in Albany the whole year and Barch being the 13th forward.

Eh, the Devils could have done worse I suppose and they have money to spend, so why the hell not?

Lou needs a body for a ritual sacrifice for the Devils.

Who knows? Lou is about as enigmatic as ever with some of these signings.
