Hemsky must be getting traded then because Edmonton have enough wingers one would imagine? Yakupov, Hall, Eberle, Smyth, Hemsky, Jones, Paajarvi, Eager, Petrell, Hordichuk . . .
Meh.. If they have harti in the top 6 then Hemsky will be on the third line. I think I'd rather keep Hemsky in the top 6 TBH.
MPS is going to have a hard time making the team with the Smyth signing and we can rotate Eager/Petrell/Jones/Hordichuk
I agree Hemsky should be playing on the top six with that contract and him being in his prime but then again Smyth -Horcoff-Hemsky have history together
Given that article that arose a few weeks ago, I'm hoping Hartikainen starts the season with the big club. He's made it pretty clear that he's off to Russia next year if he can't secure a roster spot in the NHL this season.
IIRC he said that about next season not this season. The comment was about his next contract and that season.
Tremblay signed an AHL deal with the St. Johns Ice Caps today. Had he of stayed, he wouldn't of been on the 4th line though, probably switch him and Hamilton, but maybe now Hamilton can get into the top 9.
It will be interesting to see what established AHL D man EDM gets for OKC. After that I think tambo will be done stocking OKC for next season.
I think we also have guys like House, Tyrvainen etc signed for next season
I think we didn't opt to sign Tremblay as well? And I don't see Martindale playing on the 4th line in OKC. For his sake I hope he gets his game together and plays like a top 6 is the ECHL. Let him work his way out of that league.
As for Byers, I thought that he was going to be insurance against Eager getting traded. At least a few call-ups type of replacement. But after looking at some fights on youtube, I wasn't so convinced. But if he adds some toughness and chips in a bit in the AHL, its not too bad.

I think I'm in the minority but I'm done with the Smyth-Horcoff-Hemsky line. They don't have the chemistry like they did 6 years ago. It irks me that it's a good possibility that it might be the third line.

At least its not the first line anymore, and pencilled in as the third line.
this is good secondary toughness if they need to call him up....
I was just watching videos...he may not scare the other players much...but he also seems willing to fight pretty much anyone...Polak...Winchester...he pretty much jumped Clarkson...
Hopefully it gives Eager a reason to get his game together.
