Very happy for @kporter12 signing a deal today with Buffalo Sabres. They will be glad they did. #greatplayergreatteammate

He's an agent, presumably Porter's

Is it an Amerk signing? If so, probably a good one but he's been a full time NHLer for a couple years.

Has he really?? I know he was with Colorado last year. I was under the impression he's been up and down a lot.

I would classify it as "up in the air" and assume he has a shot at making the team, otherwise would be in Rochester. But either way it pushes someone down to Rochester: himself, Ellis, Tropp?

I know everyone is waiting on the big NHL free agent decision...and @kporter12 will likely have an answer tomorrow. Enjoy your July 4th.
At least his agent has a sense of humor

I would say this guy is penciled in as our 4th line center.

Just wanted to tell you guys that it'd probably be best if this was an AHL signing, he was awful when he was with us.

We have a few options for the 4th line now so I think it'll come down to who wins out in camp. I would say he's on the outside looking in, though, and would be a better help to Rochester than the alternatives would.

Who pushes him to the outside? McCormick?

Maybe, but I don't think the transition from NHL to AHL is that difficult.

He should be a top scorer in the AHL if he indeed does go down there.

I know next to nothing about this guy other than that he came through the NCAA. I thought he was still in PHX.

Does he play hard? Toughness?

McCormick and Ellis could beat him for 4th line duty as the coaches trust them, they trust Ellis on the PK, and McCormick throws down, but I must admit I've never noticed this guy on the ice before so I can't speak to him.

Plus we may still be adding another center and Grigorenko may or may not make the team, which could tighten the fight for the 4th line/extra forward spots.

Hey, this dude's a pretty good 4th liner. If they really signed him I think he's got a shot at the 4th line C. Not as physical as McCormick, but the guy can play hockey better.

If he's in Rochester, great. If he's in buffalo, sigh. He was awful in Colorado and I don't think he's an NHLer
