So we've got to think that the basis of any deal would be Morrow + Robidas. Who would potential trade partners be - who would we be interested in?
I would think Morrow and Robidas/Fistric for sure.
Who'd we be interested in? Well Jay Bouwmeester's name keeps coming up on here and they were trying to sign him when he was a UFA a number of years ago. GM Joe wasn't the GM at the time but maybe there is some interest in him?
Don't think we have the package to offer to Nashville for Shea Weber but I'm sure the Stars and 29 other teams want to get him on their team as well.
Good question who we'd go after. Not a lot of names pop out right now for defensive help.
Still, Goligoski at 4.6/4 yrs is more preferable than Carle at 5.5/6yrs. I expect a big season from Goose this upcoming season, but I'm not keeping my hopes up.

I think what he means is that, despite his inflated contract, Carle is not any better than goose.
For the most part, people on this board received the Toby Petersen signing for what it was ... a veteran AHL signing. Those few that were concerned he had any shot of playing in the NHL this year can breathe easy.
His AHL salary is $250K which means he requires re-entry waivers to receive a call up to the NHL. Chances are minimal he'd actually get claimed, but I doubt Dallas would risk losing a very good veteran AHL presence unless injuries in the NHL were significant.
Morin and Petersen have the potential to be two high scoring centers for Texas. My question though is does this mean Glennie is moving back to wing or is he 3rd line center? My guess is 3rd line center where they hope he can develop into a potential checking line center at the NHL level.
This guy has proven to be a pretty reliable source this summer:
Joe must be hoping he stays healthy and can ramp his value up over the season so at the trade deadline if we are out, he can trade him for some assets.
But, this is speculation from a guy on Twitter so who knows.
Morrow wouldn't likely pass a physical. He also probably wouldn't waive his NTC in good faith knowing he's probably going to retire at the end of next year due to his body breaking down on him, unless he gets the problem rectified.

Actually ... even though it was from Twitter ... this is a legitimate reporter that works for ESPN Boston. He's not one of the potentially fake twitter sources.

That's good but it is speculation because even though he may be close to the team, what is told to people in the media isn't always the case.
