It's a small sample of data. If you go small enough you can easily manipulate the numbers. I took the last 3 years(INCLUDING the 2nd half of this year).

I know it was a small sample, but Mike Cammalleri was starting to heat up in his last 20 games or so in Calgary while Bourque was just getting worse. Anyway this thread ain't about Mike. I really do hope Habs can get rid of Bourque. He was turning into Gomes v2.0

What's funny is Cammalleri was giveb relatively soft minutes to produce in Calgary relative to Montreal, while for Bourque it was the other way around. Cammalleri has a better record in a two way role, but Bourque was also a victim of terrible usage.

Bourque was a victim of his own terrible performances. But I'm trying to avoid the typical fan response to any situation: "What happened last is what will happen next". So yeah, I'm willing to give Bourque the chance to once again become Rene Bourque the 25-goal-scorer, instead of Rene Borg the indifferent drone. Maybe, just maybe, the new admin and new chemistry will help guys like him find their game, instead of losing it.

But right now, he is looking very much like Gomez 2.0.

Cammalleri had a nice revival after he was playing center again.

But regardless, Bourque chop is one laaaaazy dude.

Bourque is a big dude who is a 20 goal scorer, I'm willing to give him a full season beside Plekanec and Gionta to see what he can do. In an ideal world we'd have another top 6er but he will do for now.

Also, he'll be wearing number 17 instead of 27 next year.

Wasn't aware of the number change. I wonder if all the people who bought Campoli jersey's will be able to just get the new name re-embroidered?

I'm hopign that Therrien separates the DD line and that Bourque is on a line with Desharnais.

Pacio-Desharnais-Cole
Bourque-Plekanec-Gionta
Moen-Eller-Armstrong
Prust-Noke-White

Everyone thinks Bourque goes on the third line because of how much he sucked last season for us but he's paid like a top6 player and has produced in a top6role for years before coming here.
Here is how I see things shaking down at least for the beginning of the season.

Pacio-Desharnais-Cole
Gomez-Plekanec-Gionta
Bourque-Eller-Armstrong
Moen-White-Prust

Noke will be an extra/depth forward unless Gomez doesn't cut it in camp...then your lineup seems more likely.

I agree. I refuse to judge Bourque on his performance with us last season. By the time he came in most of the team was spiraling down the toilet. I'm more than willing to give him a full season on a decent line (or at least give him until the trade deadline).

I totally agree. Too bad most of the fans here have already thrown him on the trash heap. And at the same time expect to deal him for something worthwhile when his value is at an all time low.

Factor in they could trade Cammy at the deadline this year for as much as a 1st round pick if they are not making the playoffs its win win for Calgary.

I cant understand why they PG run the team as long as he did when it was painfully obvious(see JM firing hiring english RC) he was done at seasons end.

Its really stupid.

I think Bourque is going to be given a chance, possibly on the top 6 and if nothing happens by Xmas, the Habs will be trading for a top 6 guy for Pleks wing...

I think Bourque scores 22 goals this year...

I think it's unfair to resort to such bashing when the guy played on a disintegrating team and has yet to have a full season. We had four players who played up to their potential I think that Bergevin's statement that Gomez will be at training camp is letting people know that everyone will have a chance to prove their value next year.

If they're not making the playoffs that means the second round pick we got from them will likely be around 31-40 which is close to being a first for us... he has one more year on his contract so I doubt he gets traded even if they're close to missing the playoffs.

Personally Im not even sure Therrien will start him on the second line and he is my no.1 candidate to see the most games from the pressbox.. Ive 0 faith in Bourque, I just dont believe in this guy who probably cheated offensively with the Flames to score most of his goals.. He had the chance to play alot of games with Plekanec and was generating absolutely nothing.. I see him as a Dagostini type of player, a guy who has to cheat offensively to produce, what will never be tolerated here in MTL.. The guy has a poor hockey IQ and looks pretty weak mentally..

Hopefully Leblanc and Gallagher have a strong training summer and will be sharp at the camp..
