Blues lack a young center that can put the puck in the net. Sharks lack a top line right handed scoring winger. Even though Joe Thornton injured Perron i think theyd make a good line becuase big joe prefers a right handed shot.
McDonald-Pavelski-Oshie/Backes
and
Marleau-Thornton-Perron
seem like improved lines to me what do you think.
Love Pavelski, love Perron. Basically the only rationale to do the deal is balancing center/wing. I don't see it happening but I love both players so wouldn't hate it, but I wouldn't want to add and if the Sharks insisted on us adding I think we'd be fine saying no.
We're not a spend to the cap team. That is a good term and salary for Perron. We also need to resign Oshie who is a RFA himself.
Although I agree with your statement, and personally wouldn't want to do this deal more cause i would rather keep pavelski... the .2 mil between their two salaries isn't gonna make or break anybody in this situation.
Devin Setoguchi got resigned to an exstension in less than 24 hours before he was traded to Minnesota

It happened, just move on. There isn't any other team in the league that if they had an offer for a top tier d man and it was an orginizational need that they wouldn't jump on it.

I could care less. Wasn't my team's GM who did it.
Armstrong said he will only trade picks to get a defenseman and not roster players, so he definitely won't move Perron or any other roster player for a forward, considering the only thing that has been reported that we are interested in is a LH dman.
I love Joe Pavelski. My favorite Shark player and one of my favorite non Blues, but with Perron re-signing, I don't want to be a team that signs a guy only to turn around and trade them afterwards.

Not like it mattered. Seto's rights were theirs for three years anyway. If it was a UFA that chose to play there, it would be something. An RFA that still had three years of service to go really doesn't make a difference in that regard. He got a fair amount, a fair term for what he had to do anyway, and isn't going to be asked to play any longer than his RFA years. Seto didn't get screwed.
Blues would do this. Pavelski is still pretty young as he turns 28 next week and he would push Berglund down to the 3rd-line and give us great center depth.

I really hope Armstong is not for real about that. In order to get a top 4 LH D they will have to trade legit players as the BLues are a team that's pick should not longer be in the top 15. And I believe he said he would rather not trade roster players not that he will not. Of course any GM would rather not trade roster players in improve the team.

He basically said he would prefer to trade picks instead of players. Completely different then saying he would "only" trade picks.

He also said he is more than prepared to go into next season with what we have. That means he won't get forced into giving up something, that he doesn't want to give up.
The biggest roster player that he'd give up would be D'Agostini. D'Agostini and a 2nd wouldn't be worth trading for what we would get.

Not if a player like Yandle for real becomes available. Then you start looking at trading Oshie. Or at least I would hope he would.
