Bouillon is lucky to have a contract. He was very bad last year, hopefully he'll rebound, because right now, I'm not looking forward to seeing him play.

I didn't see him play last year. I assume you saw him, maybe
watched him because he's an ex-hab. Which side did he play on?
Right or left?

I saw him a few times, but I'm basing my opinion mainly of reports that confirmed what I tought.

He played mainly on the left side with Klein and Ellis on the bottom pairing.

Is this Ellis the munchken offensive wizard from the OHL?

Hit stat, a French last name, and some familiarity?

Try experience and toughness... a rare combination in Canadiens land.
Well, what can I say about the possible options out there?

Thanks. I was still just hoping for enough depth on the right, so that Emelin can play on the left.

Yes, but I don't have high hope for him in the NHL. There's something about him.. I don't like him.

I've seen this before at the top of the habs website and looked for it before. Is it just me, or is this party animal toy, or whatever look exactly like Bouillon ?

I'm fine with the Bouillon signing, as its always important to have NHL-calibre depth because injuries are a reality. We now have 8 NHL D, which will be a bit of a log jam when healthy, but I'm sure they will all be able to contribute to the team.

I'm just hoping that the bottom 5 D (Emelin, Kaberle, Bouillon, Diaz, Weber) all get ice time based on performance. I would have a problem with Bouillon if he was being out-played by Diaz/Weber but still taking up a spot in the lineup. Those 5 should have to fight all year to stay in the lineup.

***BUMP***

So... Bouillon truly is a better D than Campoli eh?!

I am still wishing for 1. Gorges – Subban but Bouillon’s contribution can’t be overlooked: experience, he stands his ground, good hits, a surprising knack at sneaking in the slot, no BS/low maintenance player...

I can easily picture him in a Habs uniform in 2013-14. Ideally our (next season) 3rd pairing would be 3. Tinord – Diaz with Bouillon (#7D) as a great insurance policy.

Is everyone onboard with Bouillon as our 2013-14 #7D?

I've never been an admirer of Bouillon's game...in terms of intangibles, he brings those in spades. But I always found him extremely limited as a player.

I have to admit that he's looked VERY good so far...but the issue with him has always been his play over a long period of time.

But again, he's made himself a very important player on this team this year...

Kudos

What are you talking about?!?!

Clearly, Subban is underutilized and Gionta should be traded.

Very pleasantly surprised. And if he doesn't want a bigger salary and doesn't get hurt again at any point the rest of this year, I'm onboard with him as the 6th D again next season, never mind 7th.

Bouillon has been given a somewhat limited role and he's been playing as good as anyone could ask of him. The deal was a win-win for him and the habs.

I liked the signing, but thought he'd be 7th D/cheerleader.
So I'm very impressed with what he's brought so far. I had read
that he had slowed down a lot. It looks to me that he is skating well.
I'm also impressed with his poise with the puck.
AS for next year, it may depend on whether he's willing to play
a 7th D type role.

Gotta love Bouillon. He hasnt lost a step. Actually I think he's even improved with age.

I think we all said, myself included, that he is a heart and soul player since day one. That heart and soul was for us. Saddens me to see "heart and soul" being replaced by "hard working" or "determined" as player attributes. Most of us would give our eye teeth for his hockey skills, but would be sorely lacking in the heart issue.

he wasnt very bad last year. Most guys who play 17 and a half minutes on a very good team arent bad players.

Bouillon will never be considered a top 4 players or a great player, but he is what he is, a solid bottom pairing defenseman.

There was nothing wrong with his play last year and there is nothing to complain about this year. He is logging over 18 minutes of ice time and is +6.

You're sure about that ? I think Trotz liked him a lot.

Bouillon is still one of the most honest and hard working bottom-pairing, 6th d-men in the NHL.
