it's ok, but just look at Forte. Best example of "how to make everything worse and let yourself look like a fool"

Nothing McNeill said was negative towards Hockey Canada.

Hopefully he uses it as a positive...sorta like Saad and the whole #43 thing.

Well, the last time McNeill was cut from a team he felt he should have made was Canada's Ivan Hlinka team in 2010... he went on to score 81 points and get drafted 18th overall. He has a good head on his shoulders, I'm sure he'll only use being left of the team as motivation to prove HC wrong.

He also didn't make WJC last year - which I'm not sure was totally his fault...but there were people on that team who probably shouldn't have been on it. I do get the sense that HC doesn't like him for some reason.

We'll see re this year's WJC...i'd be surprised if he can make it if they don't like him enough to invite him to the Can/Russ tourney. 2013 is a pretty stacked draft year for Canada offensively (and those guys are going to Hlinka this summer and aren't playing on this team)...it will be very competitive at the younger end.

ETA - I should add, I get the sense that HC is kinda cutting bait re: "in the system" players. The next three draft years (2013, 14, 15) Canada has at least 5 grand slam forwards...and several others who will probably pop out as well.

Since we don't want to trade him, for me it doesn't matter. Make that team will bring your value up. Since we want to keep him I don't see a big deal. McNeill is better than some guys that got invited

Yeah that's pretty much it right there. Being on or not being on the team doesn't change MacNeill. He is still the same player either way.

Alex Broadhurst and Michael Paliotta make the 46 man USA summer eval. camp.

Not surprising for Paliotta IMO... as I saw quite a few Vermont games last season and he was one of the few bright spots on that team. He played in all situations and logged big minutes. I don't think he'll make the team but at least getting some recognition and you never know.

Great news for Broadhurst as well. He seems to be really impressing a lot of people and can't wait to see him in the OHL next year. Could possibly see the two brothers playing on Rockford in a couple years... not bad for two guys from the south suburbs of Chicago.

The one roster prediction I saw had Broadhurst and Paliotta "just missing the cut" so it is good to see them make it anyways.

Does anyone know where Chris Calnan will play next year? He was drafted by Waterloo of the USHL... that seems like the obvious choice. Also was drafted in the QMJHL to Blainville-Boisbriand, but I doubt he plays there for 1 year.

Anyone know? Because he won't play at BC til the 2013-14 season.

I would probably choose Waterloo if I were in his shoes.

He's already committed to a decent college, and no one cares about the name on your high school diploma. No real reason to stay in prep school after that. You can see your friends during breaks, since that's how it'll be anyway once you all graduate.

Of course, I'd probably feel differently about it if I was still 18.

If he wants to play at BC, then he can't play in the Q. It would kill his eligibility.
