Young Brodeur wants us to get Semin. John Yohe just keeps tweeting about how much Pitt should go after him so it seems we might be at war with them again.
I am confident that if we do get Semin, the attitude issues are either not as bad (if any) as we have all heard about, or something that is fixable. I have no doubt in my mind that Lou would do his research into those issues before ever offering him a serious contract.

Marty won't like it at all...I'm telling you he would leave the team.
Looking back on some tweets from the first, apparently Lebrun got info that Semin was Pitt's plan b all along if they missed on Zach, so they are definitely in on this. Most think the Wings are as well stuff is a day or two old. Plenty of crap from those who shall not be named so who the hell knows.
I thought Neal was Crosby's "winger." Who in the hell is going to play defense for that team?
It's like they've completely forgotten how the playoffs went for them. We can't stop the other team from scoring. Let's trade away a top four defenseman and go after another forward.
I'd love to get Semin. He is the most underrated player on the league and as opposed to the most overrated player in the league (Parise) he won't get a huge contract. Semin isn't the most motivated player like Kovalchuk, but he still has amazing amounts of talent and suffers from a bad rap similar to Kovy for no reason by people who overanalyze plays and don't understand that the big play is always worth more than the little one that never lead to a goal anyway. It's OK to sometimes turn the puck over because turning the puck over does not equal a goal and most of the time it isn't a goal. Thus, a goal/creating one is much more valueable and I can say with full knowledge that Kovalchuk not only makes up for this but adds a lot more and really is the only reason our team ended up in the SCF anyway. I think it's the same case with Semin and whoever signs him will ultimately be happy with their decision.
This team would be crazy good with 2 game breakers. NJD never had 2 game breakers in a long, long time. Look where the Devils got with 1.
Brian Gionta would be a perfect player for us right now.
If he only had one year left on his deal, I'd say yes. Not sure I'd want that second year. But it really wouldn't be any riskier than Semin at this point.
