I wonder if Palffy knows or even the Kings organization knows how popular he still is in LA. He wasn't/hasn't been in any of the events so far this run.

Mattias Norstrom.

There are others who come close, but for me, it's almost a no-brainer.

I know he's not a player, but Bob Miller needs his name on the Cup. So I say he dressed in place of Bernier one night.

Of actual players, I always thought Matty Norstrom or Tony Granato. As a kid I was a huge Gretzky fan, but I always liked Tomas Sandstrom (who won the Cup with the Wings in '97) and Tony Granato and though he deserved a Cup.

Since no one else said it, Pat Conacher, the man who taught me how important the bottom six players are to a Kings Cup run.

I am going with DT since he is my all-time favorite hockey player. I had this hope in 1993 that if the Kings had gotten to three wins in the Final that Gretz would let Dave have the C back so that John Ziegler would hand him the cup directly, but we'll never know.

I always liked him too. But I thought Tony Granato deserves it more off that '92-'93 team.

No love for Igor LIba?

Marcel

Davie

Jay Bird

all good but my number one at this point might just be Harpo. He was cleared and as such as he was truly the D's architect for what we use now, I would bring him back. His name should be on the cup. As he is innocent and part of the reason why we become competitive enough to win the cup I would bring him back.

I am sure someone will feel self-righteous enough to throw the first stone but then there always are a few hack's (or hackers) out there who seem to want to do so.

Dionne, Taylor, Simmer they should always be introduced together. One of the most magical times as a Kings fan was that all star game. The NHL seemed to understand what they had but the rest of the hockey world couldn't hold on to the memory of this period and moment. It could have been spread out to other hockey fans

Norstrom
Zhitnik (I always loved his skating)
Paul Mulvey
There are a lot of players who are Kings in my heart (maybe their heart too)

seeing Bernie Nicholls so happy during this playoff run, you just know he wanted to be out there so bad; plus he was a childhood favorite of mine...

I am going to go with some guys who are no longer with us, in the true "Field of Dreams" mode:

Pavol Demitra.
Juha "Whitey" Widing.
Réal "Frenchy" Lemieux.
Bill "Cowboy" Flett (however, he did win a Cup with the Flyers in 1974).
Terry Sawchuck (won several Cups with the Red Wings and Maple Leafs).
Wayne Rutledge.

And of course, Mark Bavis and Garnet "Ace" Bailey.

Butch Goring or Marcel Dionne, but Juha Widing would be cool too though.. Perhaps Mike Corrigan?

You're right, with the "Field of dreams" factor, Juha should be the one. Hard to believe he passed away at 38...

I met a guy at Philippe's before the Kings/Coyotes game 4 (worst game of the playoffs, by the way) and he was wearing an old Widing jersey...I just couldn't resist and started talking to him about my memories of Whitey.

He was Finnish also and was attending all the Kings playoff games. Some of you may have seen him at Staples, I saw him at least a couple of times more during the Final.

I found some Whiting stuff below, for reference.

Cool link, thanks.. I didn't realize that Real Lemieux died so young until just now.. He was only 30. I got a chance to play in the Forum before a Kings game in '74, weird to think some of those guys are gone now.

If you look at the bottom of the story its a memorial written by a guy who wore Juha's jersey for the 2012 SCF's...
