Haha! If you asked me before the Parise stuff went down I said I'd pay him $7.5 million a year. I'm talking for like 5-7 years. Not a ridiculous lifetime offer contract. I think Gionta can be as good as Parise. I wanted Parise back more for his leadership, and what he brought to the locker room. I thought he was a great captain, and I haven't heard the room praise a captain that much since Stevens. Not even Elias, or Langenbrunner in the infancy of his captaincy. I thought we were getting more than points out of him. As far as points go I didn't have high hopes of him breaking much higher than 70 points ago. I thought Parise here was good for the team. Point production aside. They spoke very highly of him. Little did they know he was committing some of the worst treason I've seen out of a captain in a while. Luckily it never got out, and it didn't affect the team.

Okay...
Maybe they're gonna try to score 7-10 goals per game and won't have to worry as much about their defense.

From reading posts over the last few years, I do.

It just makes zero sense. He just threw a small hissy fit and signed an agent to get his multi-year deal. Not going anywhere even if Lou signs Sean Avery.

I do too. Unless we can get someone for cheaper. I think it was NJDevs26 was the one who said he wouldn't be a bad stop gap, and many other good options will cost us Tiffany's type money. It's an old poor man's cheapo version trade of Bobby Ryan.

One of our 8 D men is making their way out of Jersey. It won't be Sal as he just got that contract. It won't be Harrold as he is just a 7th D man insurance/depth guy. It won't be Volchenkov cause his contract is untradeable. Too many years left at that cap hit. Greene is a possibility, but I doubt it. Larsson definitely not, and Fayne I hope not. Tallinder looks to be the odd man out. I just hope there isn't a chance whoever goes gets bought out.

I'm just gonna refer to him as AS. And yes, I would love the Devils to sign him...although the jokes would be endless (and apparently already are).

Big Gio isn't the worst plan C or plan D since I doubt the Ducks would accept a package centered around Yayo for Ryan, they would want Henrique or Zajac, and ya...not happening.

I tried to find the scene from Groundhog Day on you tube, but can't find it. People making all the Heatley jokes about hoping he isn't picking Zach, and Ryan up at the airport. The scene were Bill Murray, and the other two clowns he meets are in the bar. Then after having too much to drink Bill Murray goes for a ride with them, and he's hitting mail boxes, and running from the cops, and driving on the train tracks playing chicken with the train, and the other two are freaking out in the back. Bill Murray knows he's gonna wake up the next day on Groundhog Day again, so he doesn't care what he does to himself or what kinda trouble he gets in. That's what I think of with Heatley driving a car with Parise, and Suter with him.

Screw it... Gonna play guess the Semin contract.

I'll say 6 years/34.8 million. Cap hit of 5.8. Slightly front loaded with signing bonus.

Is Tallinder, Tedenby, and either a second or a third round pick too much for Gio? I asked earlier what that trade would get us, and a few replied back, and thought it would get us Sam Gagner. I'm no pro at trade values which is why I don't make trade proposals on here.

That's a lot of money for Semin. But on the other hand, putting Semin on the #9 jersey might be worth it.

I just called the Chinese takeout...they answered and I said can please make an order for delivery of large 1 pork lo mein.

The person said "is too late"

I said why did you answer the phone? The person said "you might have been my mother or something like emergency"

I said how about you charge my card double and I'll give the delivery person a good tip

They said, "oooohh so you think you big rich man?"

I said no I just really want some lo mein.

The person said "so how big a tip you give rich man"
I said well a large lo mein is 8.95 you charge me 18 and I'll give the driver 10 bucks

The person said " you not rich enough to get lo mein tonight. Good night"

And they hung up!

Parise just set the market... Based on his monster...

Semin would get 77 cents on the dollar (cap hit) for roughly the same production, less than half the contract term length, more than 60 million less in overall contract value. No crazy signing bonus. And only prime years.

Would be a much more "team friendly" deal if it happened, let's put it that way.
