I'm more than sure that Semin won't sign for a deal less than for 4 years. Not even for 7.5M.

4+ years, 6 million?

I know he won't fetch the term Parise/Suter got, but he will collect...he is the only big fish left.

I'd pay that, cap structure of the Canucks be damned.

If you sign him to a one year deal and he hits 50 goals, then you really owe him big money to keep him. I dont think he is this massive risk like a lot of people preach.

Pens would still have cap and assets to trade for a RW for Crosby.
What's with Pens fans always trying to get players below market value? Ray Whitney at 40 years old (Jagr even older) signed for $4.5M/per and you expect Semin to give Shero some deal and sign for $5M/per?

Same here!

He's now at the top of my wish-list to be Giroux's next skilled winger.

Does anyone have a source on what teams are expected to send him offers?

Putting him on G's wing would be positively orgasmic. Those two would make sweet hockey magic together. While G has had his on-ice squabbles with Semin in the past and seemed to detest him, I think he'd be able to get over all that if it meant having a lethal goal-scorer on his wing.
Or it could just mean Semin already knows who's boss

At the end of the day, am told Zach Parise generated 16-17 official offers and about 20 teams inquired
I know Semin has some question marks around him, but many teams are in need of a player like Semin. He will cash in. Just wonder who it will be. I doubt there is a chance a team can sign him for cheap or 1-2 years.

Preds could go for him, we have a lot of money to splash out and at this rate we'll barely make the cap floor...

Semin - Giroux - Voracek

That would be pretty nice.

But I hope the Avs get him

Thing with Semin is he will want to go to a team he thinks he will be comfortable at.

I think to sell him on coming to a team the place and lifestyle will be big. I don't really know what he wants there, its anyones guess. If he is looking for something like home....Colorado would be a good fit actually (and Varlamov is there). If he wants a team with national stars that he can hang out with Datsyuk and Kovalchuk will probably be good picks to recruit him. I would guess the hang up on his decision is making sure he isnt going to be upset with his day to day life away from the rink wherever he lands.

I don't think he will go to Pittsburgh unless there was some falling out with him and Ovy, personally think Ovechkin would take some offense to that. I think he would care more about being friends with Ovechkin still then sticking it to Caps management.

Ofcourse this is all guesswork and Semin is pretty unpredictable, but he has been one of my favorite players so I would like to think I'd make a better guesser then someone just hoping their team gets him.

I wonder if Semin is fielding offers then allowing the caps to match.Or takes slightly less but a ntc to ensure they cant send him anywhere.

Was hoping the Rangers would offer him a 3 year deal worth 20 million.

6.66 per.

However, I doubt he signs that deal.

NHL "Nashville" has increased its offer unrestricted free agent forward Alexander Semin informs Hockey Insider.
The translation is a tough read, however.

So obviously more than just one KHL teams are interested in signing him. In the last line SKA, CSKA (?) and Lokomotive are mentioned. I would love him to go to Detroit, but it does not seem very likely to me...

Gandler, Semin's agent, gives no hints whatsoever. The best I could get out of him was "Semin's priority is to sign with an NHL team."
I guess a boatload of cash from Russia could change that, though.

Exactly. No chance, especially now knowing just how many actual offers Parise got. If 16 to 17 teams made serious offers for Parise then I wonder how many the next best forward is getting right now.

He'll get at least 6.5 mill/yr, but the only question I have is who is going to offer him a longer term contract? Especially for a guy who isn't exactly a play-off performer.

Detroit seems to be a pretty popular destination for him and I have a gut feeling that's where he ends up. Especially with the chance to play with a fellow Russian of the caliber of Datsyuk.

I would offer him 6mil for 3 years, no questions asked. I would probably go more if needed.

"Nashville" has increased its offer unrestricted free agent forward Alexander Semin informs Hockey Insider. Thus, the club made it clear that he is ready to compete for the two-time world champion. Recall that in the opening day of the year on the market ex-striker, "Washington" came out "Predators" and "Buffalo", but their proposals were not very profitable in financial terms. Therefore, the probability of returning to Russia, where hockey player interested in the SKA, CSKA and "Locomotive", is considered quite high.

Considering it's been stated numerous times of Semin's intentions to stay in the NHL, I cannot see him leaving.

Semin likely gets a 5yr 6.5mil deal from somebody.
