No coach ever told the players 'lets lose...we will get the 1st pick....oh and by the way, good chance a good amount of you players won't be back...cause I mean you guys are a last place team...oh and there is also a good chance me and my staff won't be back...cause I mean we coached a team to last place...but hey...lets lose'
These people's jobs are on the line year in and year out.
Disagree. Pittsburgh made sure they were dead last, if it was even a doubt, when Mario, Crosby , Malkin were all in the draft.

Sidney Crosby's draft was a lottery, coming after the lockout.. So your point is not valid.

Did they tank for Fleury, Withney and Staal as well?
The Pens were truly dreadful for years, they probably didn't have to try very hard to suck as much. Btw did they not draft Crosby because they won the lockout draft lottery? They didn't even have to tank.
EDIT : Didn't see HabsPassion's post.

Correction:
Bettman gift wrapped them Crosby to "save" the franchise.

They made sure they weren't going to slip to 3-4, the Pens know what they are doing. I know they won the lottery, but they were in position to do so.

They had a better chance at him and got him.
We also took advantage of that draft lottery and selecting our franchise player so we can't really complain

Well I'm supposing. If they are custom, they asked him what he wanted on the stick, so he said Gally94, so I SUPPOSE his intentions are to keep 94.

Yeah I don't see why he'd change it, it's been his number forever and it's not like he'll have to fight anyone to get it. Somewhere, Lou Lamoriello is cringing.

He was wearing 15 in Kamloops. I'm not sure if that's just because he had to, though.

Any idea when Gally is going to sign his ELC? Was wondering as Dallas just signed Faksa to an ELC.

Good for Dallas.
Galchenyuk will sign his ELC when he signs it. It's not like we lose his rights in 2 days.

We did not take advantage of the lottery. We finished 3rd last and picked 3rd.
