I'm sorry, but that is a complete load of BS.

Fedotenko is obviously not the player he was in the 2004 playoffs, but he is still a terrific role player in this league despite the decline in his skating. He is a good forechecker, good PKer, good defensively, and is just an all-around solid presence on the ice. He was the player that drove the Fedotenko-Boyle-Prust line in 10-11, which was the Rangers' best line for stretches of that season. He struggled with injuries in the regular season this year, but played very well throughout the playoffs defensively, and turned it on against the Devils offensively.

He is just what the Flyers need in their lineup. A defensively responsible veteran player.

1) He isn't supposed to replace Jagr.

2) He isn't crap. He is a roleplayer that fills his role superbly. He isn't going to light up the scoreboard on a nightly basis, but he isn't expected to. He will play a solid 2-way game and put up points sporadically when the opportunities come.

3) The guy is a proven playoff performer. See what he did for the Rangers last year. The guy knows how to play when the chips are down. He has shown that he is able to ratchet his game up to meet the challenge in the post season as opposed to some others who fall off a bit when the pressure is on.

There is absolutely nothing to dislike about this signing.

Voracek will likely be playing there.
Solid depth move for the Flyers. Great team guy too.

Fedotenko is a good solid player. He'll never put up huge numbers but he has enough of every single skill to be considered above average talent. Feds reminds me of Scott Nichol in the fact that when you sign him on he takes the privilege seriously and gives his best every night and those are the players you want to see succeed. He has two rings that speak for his abilities.

No offensive game or creativity what-so-ever, more of a dump and chase..repeat... great shot blocker and wins a few battles along the boards and good teammate.

You will be missed Feds.

Loved Feds while he was here. Good at what he does. Sad to see him go to Philly

Fedotenko plays really well in the playoffs, turns from a 3rd liner to a 1st/2nd liner.

I loved how he played in the playoffs for the Rangers. Just solid, gritty plays every time he was on the ice. Good luck to him in Philly.

Questions for Rangers fans: where in the lineup did Fedotenko play last year? What line would you say he is best suited for at this point in his career?

Good depth move for them, he is a role player now. Ideally the 3rd wheel on a 3rd line. He is a class guy and does what he does. Decent signing.

Probably should be fourth line, but he isn't a detriment on the third if need be. Even can be a compliment to your top liners in a pinch because of his strong board work. He should probably be rotated.
