Someone hit me with an update. I couldn't get there today but I need some real hockey news. Twitter, a pic, something...

Think today was just an introduction day. Pretty sure no one took to the ice.

Intersting note from Heika... Guptil and Fraser aren't at the Development Camp because they're up in Ontario training with Gary Roberts.

He also says Brenden Dillon, Jamie Oleksiak, Alex Chiasson, Scott Glennie, Reilly Smith, Brett Ritchie and Luke Gazdic will all spend time with Roberts atfter camp is over.

Wow...we're going to have beasts and the most fit prospects this year if we keep going to him.

I bet Nieuwendyk's friendship with Roberts has something to do with this too. Looking out for each other.

Well he's on our payroll. I would be disappointed if we weren't getting preferential treatment.

He's a player development consultant as far as I know. Joe hired him a couple of years ago.

Gary Roberts is the Mr. Miyagi of training hockey players.

Unless I'm crazy I believe Nihlstorp is a right handed catcher ala Hiller. Interesting.

Was waiting for this. As a goalie myself, love watching these videos. IMO, it looks like Besko has the better glove hand then the other two. JC with the little time he was showed didn't really impress me but then again it's just them getting rubber shot at them. Also that JC was the only one who goes down to stop the puck, while Besko and Nihlstorp both stay up.

Hope more come vids are uploaded

One of the Goalie Guild articles from a Elite hockey camp in Minnesota mentioned Mike Valley had a good shot. That video confirmed it. He was getting some velocity on those shots and he can consistently place it.

I wonder if other goalies have a strong shot. It's not something they really need to work on.

yeah unfortunately Roberts still operates independently and trains all sorts of young players from around the league.

I think one of the major sticking points is that he prefers to spend his time in Ontario so you have to go to him, not the other way around.

Roberts does travel for the Stars though during the year. Every once in a while a team twitter will mention that Gary Roberts was in town with a Dallas prospect. I know he spent time in Miami, OH, with Reilly Smith.

I imagine the OHL guys get a lot of his attention as well.

Initial thoughts after 1hr of Dev Camp drills...Ritchie, Chiasson look polished. Glennie also looks NHL ready. Stansky looks a bit raw.
God I hope Glennie takes this offseason seriously and blows us away at camp..
