Voted "other"--I'll take the field.

Mostly, I have no clue what to expect.

If I had to guess: of Nash, Ryan, and Weber, I think it i most likely that we deal for Weber. If Holmgren was going to give up Schenn or Couturier for Nash or Ryan, I think he already would have done so.

Stay the course, be patient, develop a plan (doesn't appear that there is a current one) and stay with it- above all, don't go crazy like you did in June, 2011.

Yea with Pitt not forcing our hand I'd rather not do much. Or trade read for jbo.

We had half our D hurt last year at all times. When everyone was back minus mez we set NHL records for D. With all guys healthy now I think we are in great shape. That said kimo and pronger are not available next year so we need to replace them.

Who are the big FA Fwds and D next year?

Really? I think you need to look up Semin's numbers because he isn't Zherdev 2.0. This whole thing about Semin being a poor defensive player and stuff is just crap that's made up. Over the past four seasons, he's been a +92, so he knows about the defensive side of the game. On top of it, the past four seasons, he's scored 123 goals, an average of just under 31 goals a season while playing on the second line. He's never had the benefit of playing with Backstrom. Give him a good centerman and he's good for 40 goals a year.

This whole Russian-bias is really silly and starting to get old. The guy is a gamer. His numbers match that of Parise and I'm sure that if Semin were a Canadian, there'd be no doubt he'd be getting a big contract from someone. I suggest to do some research about Semin, but I guess that as long as there's a general consensus he's a bad player, then it will continue to permeate through here. Too bad as well.

I'm far from biased against Russians. My suggestion to you would be to watch him play. If Alexander Semin isn't the centerpiece, he wont put forth a consistent effort. And on our team he would not be the #1 guy, Giroux has that locked up.

I couldn't care less about nationality, I do care about shot blocking and consistency though.

The only Russian-factor thing to consider is during the draft. Will that player leave for the KHL or not?

Don't agree. I never saw that.

2006-2010: Semin averaged 35 G/35 A when Alex Ovechkin as one the very best players in the world. Backstrom had arguably overshadowed Semin since 2008 as well and he often played on the 2nd line with Laich and Fleischmann during his best years as a Cap.

Point is, Semin has had no trouble producing as a 2nd or 3rd option. He has usually been fine playing as the best player in a 2nd line or the 2nd best player on a 1st line.

And it is reported Semin wants to play in Pitts where he certainly will not be the top dog or 2nd top dog etc.....Its CRAZY some of the nonsense that gets spewed about some players by the media etc...Love to have Semin here in Philly, he is entertaining as heck on the ice......And that's what fills the seats !

I really hope they go after Bouwmeester. Especially if they can get him for something like Meszaros and a 1st. Bouwmeester can easily replace Carles even strength and power play ice time. Bouwmeester also can drastically cut into Kimmo's PK time. Maybe even take Timonen off the PK all together. Bouwmeester's skating is fantastic so he could adjust to Laviolette's system.

Coburn - Grossmannn
Bouwmeester - Schenn
Timonen - Gervais

Personally, I'm more comfortable having 3 fringe NHL back-up goalies in our system at all times along with a starter (4 goalies or bust).

I'm actually getting a bit tired of waiting for something to happen because if it was it would have happened by now. Maybe Homer is going to wait until the deadline to make a move hoping that the asking price on Nash/Ryan/Weber goes down.
