Maybe Antropov can fulfill the same role with Semin as he does with Burmistrov? Keeping him in check, etc. Thinking with him and Ponikarovsky they might be able to fold him into the team, in a way.

Dekanich is pretty much an AHL goalie. I think he's going to be backing up Pasquale.

Apparently the stars signed Faksa to a 3 year ELC.

Dekanich HAS to be for the AHL. Was he injured a lot lately? Only played six games in the last year? :/

I hope Maxwell didn't get a one-way contract. He's still not ready for a permanent NHL roster spot.

Does it matter when he is signed? It's obvious that he will eventually make the NHL. I guess you burn one of the 50 contracts you can sign though.

The Jets have too many young players to deal with a guy like that. An organization like Detroit might be able to keep him on track but I think it's an unnecessary risk for the Jets. That could also be anti-Russian bias on TSN but I'm just not sure about him. Normally I'd say there's no harm giving him a one or two-year deal to keep him motivated but he was in his contract year last season and still did nothing. LW scoring also isn't a problem here. I wouldn't be pissed off if they signed him though, just nervous.
Pierre is a goof. I'm suprised he was able to put together that insult. I'm not a fan of Pierre or Semin for that matter. Crawford on the otherhand I would consider listening too. Just a thought.

I'd be okay with giving Semin 12-13 mil of TNSE's money over 2 years.

I was huge on Semin coming here but after thinking about it more, not so much now.

Looking at the "big" FAs not signed yet, there are:

Semin (Caps)
Doan (Yotes)
Kostitsyn (Preds)
Kubina (Philly)
Teemu (Ducks)
Wellwood (Us)
Spacek (Canes)
Rolston (Bruins)
Holmstrom (Wings)
Hueslius (BJs)
Arnot (Blues)
Hannan (Flames)
Colaiacovo (Blues)
Campoli (Habs)

Some of these are not realistic or likely to sign here, some of these guys aren't considering Winnipeg,

whereas some of these other guys are probably looking at an offer from us and weighing it vs some others.

For me, personally, I think Wellwood is the best piece to what we need.

What about you guys? What would you like to see/who do you think would fit/who would not/ & Why?

I'd love Teemu (we all probably would) but :

Two players they may be interested in are Winnik and Stortini. The former would be a decent addition, I think.

I still think we're going to sign a RW. Chevy has alluded to it a few times. Whether or not it's going to be a big fish like Semin or just bringing back Wellwood remains to be seen.

But I think there might eventually need to be a trade as well. Right now our depth looks like:

Ladd-Little-Wheeler
Kane-Jokinen-Wellwood
Ponikarovsky-Burmistrov-Antropov
Miettinen-Slater-Thorburn
Cormier-Maxwell-Machacek
Scheifele

Enstrom-Byfuglien
Hainsey-Bogosian
Clitsome-Stuart
Postma-Kulda

Pavelec
Montoya

ELC are pretty standard, especially for first rounders. Sign it now or sign it in a month, doesn't make much difference.

Cause he farts dust

Seriously though I don't see him as a meaningful 1 or 2 RW at this point in his career. I loved the guy but I just don't see him as a fit for the Jets.

Any idea if you guys will be re-signing Arturs Kulda? If so, will he make the Jets next season?

I think he has a very good shot at sticking with the Jets this season.

I'd love Teemu (we all probably would) but :
jets would love a veteran top 6 RW who would be a fan favourite,

gee who would that be throw him an offer of 5.5 mill for one season, and see if he takes it

IE SEMIN

any deal <= 5MM and <= 2 years is a good solid offer
