Glad to have him back in the organisation

Imagine he turns McIlrath into his "clone"

Andre Deveaux signs with Florida. No big loss.

Segal sigining is a nice depth move. Sean Collins too, never head of him, lol Anyone missing below?

Miller, Newbury, Thomas
Yogan, Kolarik, Hrvik
Bourque, Haley, Segal
Grant, Jean, Wilson

Vernance, McIlrath
Pyett, Parlett
Redden, Collins
Niemi...........Erixon will make the big club IMO

Cameron Talbot - starter
Jason Missiaen - battle for the back up spot
Scott Stacjer -

EDIT: Oops. Is this old news? Haha.

Rangers apparently also have signed defenseman Sean Collins (http://rangers.nhl.com/club/player.htm?id=8473913).

non-Ranger minor leaguers

the loose ends are the guys who played on Whale AHL contracts last year -
Tessier seemed to have found a home in Hartford after 2 pretty good years,
Tanski, Max Campbell, Kale Kerbashian could merit their 2d pro season also with Whale system.
Nightingale signed in AHL, Owens and goalie Jerry Kuhn signed in Europe.
McKelvie is likely gone for good, along with McNaught.
If Klassen would sign a AHL deal, I'd bring him back, the only lefties among the current 8 D are Redden, Vernace, Niemi (Righty's: Parlett, McIlrath, Collins, Pyett, Delisle)

PS probably time to create a
2012-2013 Connecticut Whale/Greenville Road Warriors Thread (AHL, ECHL) Thread

CT roster

What do we have here now?

Miller?, Newbury, Thomas
Hrivik, Kolarik, XXX???
Yogan, Bourque, Haley
Grant, Jean?, Segal
Wilson?

Redden - McIllwrath
Vernance, Delisle
Pyett, Parlett
Collins, Niemi?

Cameron Talbot
Jason Missiaen
Scott Stacjer ?

Missing at least one top 6 LW to replace the "loss" of Wellman, remember that we also lost 4 additional more or less competent fwds in MZA, JAM, Deveaux and Thuresson (well kinda)!!! This is a tough loss for CT club.
Expect a 2 way deal signed soon with a borderline NHLer or maybe bring in a camp invitee?
Jason Krog anyone?
Tanski, Tessier or Owens? Might all be plausible AHL contract signings for fwd depth...
Will Miller be put on the Whale or go back to Jrs? Remember Grachev... Unless Miller has a great camp and earns a 10 game tryout with NYR (which I really hope for!). I think they might want to try to groom him foremost as a center though - no?
If he is not in the AHL To start the year, really then see us needing to add 2 fwds to the top 6
Niemi and Wilsson most likely ECHL bound to start with at least...maybe also Jean
Lots of new faces on D. Losing Erixon, Valentenko and Bell will be felt, Nightingale and Klassen not so much
Will Redden even return?
When will Big Mac be ready to go?

Goalie situation interesting too

I doubt there will be much movement before the new CBA is signed. There will be a lot of marginal (NHL) players available then.

BBKers - your list is very complete

i do expect Lindberg to play in North America, but not Fasth

Re the AHL guys, Owens signed overseas (see EliteProspects),
besides Tessier and Tanski, the other AHL F's were Kale Kerbashian, Chris Mckelvie and NYR draftees Max Campbell and Randy Mcnaught.
While kerbashian didnt distinguish himself in Charlotte, Mcnaught was overmatched, and McKelvie just an routine AHL depth F, Campbell is an interesting case.

After an injured first half at Greenville, coach Stork didn't take to him, and he was swapped out west to Stockton, where he found his game with a strong 2d half and dominant playoff

on D, i would welcome back Klassen if he'd sign an AHL deal, now that his NHL deal completed. He improved each year and is still young, but hasnt earned a 2d NHL deal

While Niemi had 2 unimpressive years, he's barely 22, and maybe Beuk can get him on track, tho I'd gladly have NYR trade him for another team's long-shot young player with similar profile (Niemi was drafted 72 over all in '08 and is 6'2" and >200#)

Miller is a center.

With Dubinsky amd Anisimov gone, they are absolutely going to continue developing Miller as a center.

Yeah I would think so.

I'm not tracking the stats for everyone this year. It's all available on the AHL ststs page. Updating this thread manually was ridiculous, haha.

Maybe do a screen shot of the stats and upload them on the first post? Would that be less tedious?

Yeah, that could work. Maybe I'll try that. I can do that, and then have a table that just lists the current active roster. Good call.

Rangers to sign the younger Beukeboom..

with the loss of Erixon, cant hurt the depth chart, but like Sauer had injury problems. could be a good risk if healthy..

According to Bruce Berlet, had the Traverse City tournament not been canceled, the Rangers would have had free agent defenseman Brock Beukeboom on their team.

that means he had to sign some type of contract even if its a tryout...it wouldnt shock me one bit..Sather tends to do favors for his former players....
