When you have a line that lit it up like Malkin and Neal's did last year, you would be a fool to touch it for not good reason. There is supurb chemistry with Malkin and Neal, why would Bylsma change it?
I think that Jagr scored something like half of his 19 goals against the Pens last year. My numbers may be slightly exaggerated, but it was obvious that you remove the games that he played the Pens and his numbers, face it, were mediocre at best. He had something to prove against the Pens, no matter how misguided that chip on the shoulder was.
Semin has been all but run out of town in Washington wearing tar and feathers. After he looked very good in last year's playoffs. You do not think that he has something to prove? Now imagine doing it on the Pens of all places, who the Caps and their fans can not stand, on Sid or Malkin's wing. I am sure that he would love to troll the Caps like that after being set loose.

Semin is damn amazing, you Pens will be making me sick with jealously watching him. I'm not one of the fans who is blind to real talent and puts grinding above everything else.

the russians have a lot of nat. pride. there would be much comp. between sid/ neal.....geno/semin imo....... if not you could always change if it doesn't work.

The combination led to a scoring title and an MVP for Malkin and 40 goals for Neal. The two have great chemistry. I wouldn't mess with it.
Semin is an option if the money and term is right. I don't get the sense that the Pens are crazy about him though. He'd have to want to play here for whatever reason. I guess his motive could be to play with Sid or Malkin, take advantage of that and have a huge season like Neal did and really cash in next off-season.
I am hearing this morning that we could see Alex Semin signed today and it appears to be coming down to two teams. NJ and Detroit. I will stay on top of this. I have had two sources tell me a Semin deal could be signed as early as today or possibly tomorrow...of course things can always change.
