Big fan of the Dekanich signing, have him and Montoya slug it out for the #2 spot. I can't say I've ever seen Dekanich play, but from what I hear he's big and very athletic.
Also has some pretty cool masks with the Dexter's Lab theme:
Dekanich is no slouch, he was pretty much pencilled in for the #2 job in Columbus before wrecking his ankle. I don't see him as a depth signing at all, I bet he'll be challenging Montoya for the backup spot.

Very nice signing, love it. Dekanich is a solid goalie, it will be an intense battle in camp between Montoya and Dekanich. Dekanich is the better goalie, IMO, but it depends on how he rebounds from that injury. The other will split starts with Pasquale, meaning the end of Chris Carrozzi in Winnipeg system, but that's a complete meh.

If its a two way, it will take one hell of a performance to get the #2 job
The jets arent going to pay 600k to a ahl goalie
dekanich was on a 1 way last year @ 575K.
He probably didn't get a 1 way deal, but the AHL money was probably pretty good. Maybe St. johns has offered to pay a chunk for an NHL calibre guy. They already list him as a St. Johns Ice Cap on Capgeek.com!

Either the jets pay or caps pay... It probably comes from the same bank account

good point!! when i wrote that post, i was thinking of back in the day when the moose paid a good chunk of some career AHL scoring leaders salary so the canucks would sign him. I forgot that chipman owns the Ice Caps Too!!!
Dekanich Tweeted today he was excited to join the Jets AND the IceCaps, so it's going to be a two-way and he's obviously aware that he'll likely be assigned to the AHL. If he pushes his way up, awesome, more competition for that spot can only help us.
