I don't wanna say the deal is close or not but I do remember reading somewhere on these forums that some radio stations in Anaheim were saying a trade was in the process or completed. This was a while ago though maybe it didn't fall through? Who knows but I know for a fact that there was rumors that a trade between the Leafs and Ducks was happening so this guy isn't lying.

Washington's Backstrom i havn't seen mentioned but i can assure the Leafs have had discussions with the caps for his services.
are both locks to be in the lineup game 1? NO. That doesn't mean armature scouts dont get asked by their GM about the minor league prospects/picks that would be in the deal.

No, Grabovski was only used at 2 3 because we lacked depth. We now have jvr and a new c who is a solid shutdown guy. We also will be playing a kid, Kadri if we dont trade him.
